Matsuya Adds Temporary Closure Schedules for 3 Stores Starting May 18

At 11:25 on May 8, temporary closure plans were newly added for three stores in the store data on Matsuya’s official website. The three stores are the Ueno Store in Tokyo, the Fuji Round One Store in Shizuoka, and the Gaikan Yao Store in Osaka, and all share the same temporary closure date and time: 15:00 on Monday, May 18.

The Ueno Store and Fuji Round One Store will be renovated for about 11 days, while the Gaikan Yao Store will take a somewhat longer 16 days. The Gaikan Yao Store is a location co-located with My Curry Shokudo, but the store data does not reveal whether the longer renovation period is related to that co-located setup.

The second wave starting May 18 is geographically spread across Tokyo, Shizuoka, and Osaka. Combined with the first wave, which spans from Hokkaido to Hyogo, May’s renovations are running in parallel across the country.

Features of Each Store

Matsuya Ueno Store (Tokyo)

Located in the central urban area near Ueno Station. The building is the Ishii Building, and the store occupies two floors (1F and 2F), a relatively rare multi-level layout for Matsuya. It is scheduled to reopen after about 11 days of renovation.

Matsuya Fuji Round One Store (Shizuoka Prefecture)

From its name, it appears to be co-located with or near the Round One Fuji location. It is scheduled to reopen after a renovation period of about 11 days.

Matsuya Gaikan Yao Store (Osaka Prefecture)

A suburban store along the Outer Loop Road (Route 170), co-located with My Curry Shokudo. At about 16 days, it has the longest renovation period of these three stores.

Renovation Details Cannot Be Determined from the Store Data

For all three stores, the store data changed in only three items: the store name (a temporary closure note was added), the temporary closure date and time, and the renewal opening date and time. Whether the co-located brand will change after renovation (such as becoming co-located with Matsunoya, or continuing to be co-located with My Curry Shokudo) and the nature of any equipment upgrades cannot be read from the store data.
