Matsuya's Official X Tries the July 7 'Yatara Japanese-style Hamburg Steak,' Touts Its Pairing With Vegetables
Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted on July 10 that it had tried the “Yatara Japanese-style Hamburg Steak,” on sale since July 7. “You there, wondering ‘Do vegetables and hamburg steak really go together…?’ Try it and you’ll definitely see how well they pair,” the post read, adding, “A new wind is blowing through the world of Japanese-style hamburg steak.” It recommended checking it out alongside the “Yatara Beef Bowl.”
A Japanese-style Hamburg Steak Topped With Chopped “Yatara” Vegetables
The posted photo shows a plate with a nicely browned Japanese-style hamburg steak generously topped with fresh chopped vegetables. Finely chopped cucumber, carrot, onion, and other garnishes cover the hamburg steak, sprinkled with white sesame seeds. At the back of the plate sits a salad of shredded cabbage topped with corn, and a small dish of Japanese-style sauce is placed to the right — a composition befitting a set meal. “Yatara” is a local dish handed down in Shinshu (Nagano Prefecture), referring to a garnish made of chopped summer vegetables.
Released July 7, Same Day as “Yatara Beef Bowl” — Set Meal 1,180 Yen
The Yatara Japanese-style Hamburg Steak is a limited-time item released on July 7. Like the “Yatara Beef Bowl” (650 yen) released the same day, it incorporates the Shinshu local dish “Yatara,” and the set meal costs 1,180 yen. Following the beef bowl, “Yatara” has now been paired with the Japanese-style hamburg steak as well. “Yatara” is also available on its own (200 yen), so it can be added to any menu item of your choice.
