Third Store in Numazu City, 25th in Shizuoka Prefecture

Until now, Matsuya had two locations in Numazu City: Numazu (0554, 9-7 Tsutsuicho, Numazu City) and Numazu Minami (0615, 1372 Aza Misonocho, Kamikanuki, Numazu City). With the addition of Numazu Higashishiiji, Numazu City now has three Matsuya locations, bringing the prefecture-wide total in Shizuoka to 25. While both Numazu and Numazu Minami are located closer to the city center, Numazu Higashishiiji is situated in the Higashishiiji area in the eastern part of the city, extending the store’s coverage area eastward.

Opening as a Matsunoya Co-located Store

Numazu Higashishiiji is opening with Matsunoya, the tonkatsu chain, co-located at the same site. In Numazu City, Numazu is also a Matsunoya co-located store, while Numazu Minami operates as Matsuya only — meaning the number of Matsunoya co-located stores in the Numazu area increases to two. At Matsunoya co-located stores, customers can order Matsunoya menu items such as Loin Cutlet alongside Matsuya’s Beef Bowl, Curry and Rice, and Set Meals, all at the same location.

A String of New Openings in July

Since June, Matsuya has been announcing a series of new store openings across the country. Earlier announcements included Mibu (Tochigi Prefecture) on June 30, Toyokawa Hachiman (Aichi Prefecture) on July 1, Gamo Yonchome (Osaka Prefecture) on July 2, Nishi-Urawa Station (Saitama Prefecture) on July 4, and Ishioka (Ibaraki Prefecture) on July 8, placing the July 11 opening of Numazu Higashishiiji within this wave of new stores. The pace of new openings nationwide is set to continue heading into summer.

Editor's Note

A third Matsuya arrives in Numazu. With Matsunoya co-located, you can head to the same store even on days you're craving tonkatsu.
