Matsuya Adds Iwade and Asaka Higashiguchi Stores to June 15 Temporary Closures

StoreTemporarily Closed

On May 29, 2026, two more stores were newly added to Matsuya’s official store data as entering temporary closure from 15:00 on Monday, June 15: Iwade Store (co-located with My Curry Shokudo) in Wakayama Prefecture and Asaka Higashiguchi Store in Saitama Prefecture. Both stores have their temporary closure start time aligned at 15:00 on June 15.

Temporary Closure Schedule

Store Location Temporarily Closed Reopening Closure Period
Matsuya Iwade Store (co-located with My Curry Shokudo) (0710) 4-1 Okada, Iwade City, Wakayama Prefecture June 15, 2026 (Mon) 15:00 June 24, 2026 (Wed) 18:00 About 9 days
Matsuya Asaka Higashiguchi Store (1722) Dainichiya Building, 2-2-43 Nakamachi, Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture June 15, 2026 (Mon) 15:00 June 30, 2026 (Tue) 10:00 About 15 days

Iwade Store’s closure period is on the shorter side at about 9 days, while Asaka Higashiguchi Store’s renovation period is set at about 15 days — nearly double. Both stores have had a note about the temporary closure period appended to the end of their store names, and the temporary closure date/time and reopening date/time have been registered at the same time.

Iwade Store: Renovation of a My Curry Shokudo Co-located Store

Iwade Store is located at 4-1 Okada, Iwade City, Wakayama Prefecture, an existing store co-located with My Curry Shokudo. Business hours are 5:00 to 3:00 the following day, and the store name has carried the “(co-located with My Curry Shokudo)” notation since before this change. The co-located configuration in the store name remains unchanged from before, and it isn’t possible to tell from the store data what the co-located configuration will look like after the renovation. A notable feature is that the reopening time is set at 18:00 — an evening restart, unlike the reopening times of other stores closing in June, which are mostly centered around 10:00. Wakayama Prefecture currently has 6 Matsuya stores, so during the closure period the number of available stores in the prefecture will narrow to 5.

Asaka Higashiguchi Store: A Longer Renovation Period for a Standalone Store

Asaka Higashiguchi Store is a standalone store located in the Dainichiya Building, 2-2-43 Nakamachi, Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture. Business hours are 6:00 to 1:00 the following day, and the store name carries no co-located brand notation. The closure period is on the longer side at about 15 days, overlapping with the pattern of “standalone store renovated into a Matsunoya co-located store” that has continued in various locations since May (with a similarly wide closure period of around 15 days). The post-renovation store name and co-located configuration are not yet reflected in the store data at this time.

June’s Temporary Closure Schedule Expands to 7 Stores

With the addition of these 2 stores, the total number of Matsuya stores scheduled for temporary closure in June has reached 7. This follows 2 stores starting the week of June 3, 1 store the week of June 4, and 2 stores the week of June 8, with 2 stores (added this time) now starting the week of June 15.

Matsuya Asaka Higashiguchi Store Saitama (added this time) June 15, 15:00 June 30, 10:00

The wave of temporary closures that continued through late May (totaling more than a dozen stores) has carried into June, continuing on a weekly basis.

Editor's Note

Two more stores are set to join June's lineup of renovation closures. Iwade Store's evening reopening time stands out as a bit unusual.
