Matsuya Mizonokuchi Minamiguchi Store's Map Pin Shifts About 21 Meters Southeast

It has come to light that the coordinates marking the map location of Matsuya Mizonokuchi Minamiguchi Store (1769) were rewritten on November 4. The latitude changed from 35.598798 to 35.598657, and the longitude from 139.6102893 to 139.6104413, moving the map pin roughly 21 meters to the southeast. That breaks down to about 15.6 meters south (the direction in which latitude decreases) and about 13.7 meters east (the direction in which longitude increases), which together amount to a southeast shift.

Both the latitude and longitude were updated at the same time, and no changes are shown to other fields such as the store name or business hours.

Two Matsuya Stores Named “Mizonokuchi” Stand Within Walking Distance

Mizonokuchi Minamiguchi Store is located in Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The ward is also home to three other locations — Matsuya Takatsu (0299), Matsuya Kajigaya (1937), and Matsuya Mizonokuchi (2185) — bringing the ward’s total number of Matsuya stores to four.

Of these, two carry “Mizonokuchi” in their name: this Mizonokuchi Minamiguchi Store and the Mizonokuchi Store. The straight-line distance calculated from the two stores’ coordinates is about 480 meters, meaning two Matsuya locations sharing the same place name stand within walking distance of each other near Mizonokuchi Station.

Store Name	Store Code
Matsuya Takatsu	0299
Matsuya Mizonokuchi Minamiguchi	1769
Matsuya Kajigaya	1937

Kanagawa Is Matsuya’s Third-Biggest Battleground, After Tokyo and Osaka

According to the store list on Matsuya’s official website, Kanagawa Prefecture has 111 active Matsuya locations. That’s the third-highest count nationwide, after Tokyo’s 337 and Osaka Prefecture’s 114, and ahead of Saitama Prefecture’s 104 and Chiba Prefecture’s 78. Within the greater Tokyo area, Kanagawa is one of Matsuya’s densest markets, which is part of the backdrop for areas like Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City, where four stores cluster within a single ward.

Prefecture	Active Stores
Tokyo	337
Osaka Prefecture	114
Kanagawa Prefecture	111
Saitama Prefecture	104
Chiba Prefecture	78

A few dozen meters’ adjustment on the map affects the precision of the pin shown when a navigation app or store locator displays the destination. In areas like Mizonokuchi, where Matsuya locations sharing the same place name stand close together, this kind of location data becomes a clue for telling the stores apart.
