Matsuya Kagurazaka and Another Store to Temporarily Close for Up to 22 Days in November
Matsuya’s store information was updated as of October 27, 2026, revealing that two locations—one in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, and one in Anjo, Aichi—will each temporarily close in November. Both are fixed-term closures tied to renovations and other work, with scheduled reopening dates also provided.
Kagurazaka Store Closed from November 5 to 27
Matsuya Kagurazaka (0128, 2-9, Kagurazaka, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) will temporarily close at 9:00 AM on November 5 and is scheduled to reopen at 3:00 PM on November 27. The closure period runs 22 days.
This closure spans most of November, making it longer even than the temporary closures announced in October for Matsuya Shimokitazawa (12 days, from 3:00 PM on November 4) and Matsuya Kakogawa Noguchicho (from 10:00 PM on October 19 to 9:00 AM on October 27). A closure of roughly three weeks ranks among the longer temporary closures seen at Matsuya stores.
Kagurazaka is one of 25 Matsuya stores in Shinjuku Ward, where locations are concentrated mainly around the Takadanobaba, Shinjuku, and Nishi-Shinjuku areas.
Satellite Anjo Store Closed from November 10 to 25
Matsuya Satellite Anjo (1913, 30-8, Arasone, Sumiyoshi-cho, Anjo-shi, Aichi) will temporarily close at 3:00 PM on November 10 and is scheduled to open at 3:00 PM on November 25. The closure will last 15 days.
Satellite Anjo is the only Matsuya store in the entire chain to carry the name “Satellite.” Together with Mikawa-Anjo and Anjo Nishikimachi, it is one of three Matsuya stores within Anjo City.
In June 2026, the store moved its last-order time earlier, from 15 minutes before closing to 30 minutes before closing, making it a location where operational adjustments have continued.
Matsuya’s Store Network in Tokyo and Aichi
Matsuya operates 337 stores in Tokyo and 54 in Aichi Prefecture. Aichi ranks sixth nationwide in store count, following Tokyo (337 stores), Osaka Prefecture (113), Kanagawa Prefecture (111), Saitama Prefecture (104), and Chiba Prefecture (78).
Both of this round’s closures are fixed-term, with reopening dates already set, and do not represent a change in the stores themselves. After renovations and other work, each is expected to continue operating at the same location.
Editor's Note
A 22-day closure means it'll likely look completely different by the time you pass by again after a while. Looking forward to seeing its new look after reopening.
