Matsuya will open a new store, “Matsuya Okawa Store (2326),” in Enokozu, Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, at 10:00 on November 5, 2026. It appears in the store list on Matsuya’s official website with its opening date and time, so as of today, October 15, it is listed ahead of its opening. The Okawa Store will be the only Matsuya in Okawa City, making it the city’s first Matsuya.

A First for the City, and the 32nd Store in Fukuoka Prefecture

Including the Okawa Store, Matsuya operates 32 stores in Fukuoka Prefecture. Of these, the Okawa Store is the only one in Okawa City, making it the city’s first Matsuya.

The nearest existing store to the Okawa Store is Matsuya Saga Otakara Store in Saga Prefecture, about 9.8 km away in a straight line. Next is Matsuya Chikugo Store in Fukuoka Prefecture at about 11.3 km, followed by the stores in Kurume City at roughly 17 to 20 km. All of them are around 10 km or more from the Okawa Store, so the Okawa and Yanagawa area across the Chikugo River has had few Matsuya nearby. The Okawa Store joins as a location that fills that gap.

Co-located with Tonkatsu Restaurant Matsunoya

The Okawa Store will open as a store co-located with the tonkatsu restaurant Matsunoya. Of the 32 Matsuya stores in Fukuoka Prefecture, 19 are co-located with Matsunoya, and the nearest stores, the Saga Otakara Store and the Chikugo Store, are both co-located with Matsunoya as well. The Chikugo area has a cluster of Matsuya stores co-located with Matsunoya, and the Okawa Store follows that pattern. In addition to Beef Bowls, you can enjoy Loin Cutlet and tonkatsu set meals at a single location.

Listed Ahead of Opening with a Set Date and Time

The Okawa Store is scheduled to open at 10:00 on November 5, 2026. Several other stores are also listed on Matsuya’s official website with their opening dates and times posted in advance, including Matsuya Taisho Ekimae Store (November 7), Matsuya Kitaakabane Store (November 5), Matsuya Chiba Store (November 2), and Matsuya Asahikawa Nagayama Store (November 1). Listing a store ahead of its opening is not unusual.

Matsuya’s new store openings have continued at a pace of a few per month recently, and the arrival of the Okawa Store is part of that trend. Matsuya Beef Bowls will be available in Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, starting November 5.
