Matsuya to Open 14th Itabashi Ward Store, "Itabashi-Yotsuba Store," on November 26
It has come to light that Matsuya will open a new store, “Matsuya Itabashi-Yotsuba Store (2312),” in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, at 10:00 AM on November 26, 2026. The address is 1-31-11 Yotsuba, Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, and the store will operate 24 hours a day. In addition to Matsuya’s beef bowl menu, the store will also house the tonkatsu chain Matsunoya.
Four Stores Already Within a 1.4km Radius — a New Store Joins a Cluster
With the opening of the Itabashi-Yotsuba Store, Matsuya will have 14 stores in Itabashi Ward. The existing 13 stores are: Itabashi-Honcho Store, Kami-Itabashi Store, Tokiwadai Store, Shimura-Sakaue Store, Takashimadaira Store, Naka-Itabashi Store, Itabashi Kuyakusho-mae Store, Itabashi Store, Hasune Store, Takashimadaira Ekimae Store, Oyama Store, Shimo-Akatsuka Store, and Tobu-Nerima Store. The new store adds one more to a ward already well covered by Matsuya locations.
The area around Yotsuba is especially dense with Matsuya stores. Based on straight-line distances calculated from latitude and longitude, the closest store to the Itabashi-Yotsuba Store is the Takashimadaira Store (0433), about 1.16km away, followed by the Shimo-Akatsuka Store (2200) at about 1.22km, the Takashimadaira Ekimae Store (1915) at about 1.33km, and the Tobu-Nerima Store (0255) at about 1.34km. The new store is opening in an area where four stores already sit within a 1.4km radius (all figures are straight-line distances, not road distances).
Co-located with Tonkatsu Chain Matsunoya — the Ward’s Second Such Store
The Itabashi-Yotsuba Store will combine Matsuya’s beef bowls with the tonkatsu specialty chain Matsunoya. This makes it only the second Matsuya in Itabashi Ward to be co-located with Matsunoya, after the Oyama Store (0078). The Oyama Store reopened in July 2026 as the ward’s only Matsunoya co-located store following renovation, and the opening of the Itabashi-Yotsuba Store now brings that lineup to two.
Note that the ward’s other co-located store, the Shimo-Akatsuka Store, is paired with the curry chain My Curry Shokudo instead. Within Itabashi Ward, the sister brands co-located with Matsuya are thus split between Matsunoya and My Curry Shokudo.
Tokyo Leads the Nation with 338 Stores; Natori Store in Miyagi Opens Soon After
By prefecture, Tokyo has the most Matsuya stores nationwide at 338, followed by Osaka Prefecture with 114, Kanagawa Prefecture with 111, Saitama Prefecture with 104, and Chiba Prefecture with 78. The Itabashi-Yotsuba Store is an additional opening within this top-ranked region.
Following the Itabashi-Yotsuba Store in late November, Matsuya will also open a new store in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture. The Matsuya Natori Store (2316, located at 271-1 Tagata Aza Hara, Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture) is scheduled to open at 10:00 AM on November 28, 2026, and it too will be co-located with Matsunoya. Two Matsunoya co-located stores — one in Itabashi, Tokyo, and one in Natori, Miyagi — will thus launch just two days apart.
Editor's Note
That's 14 stores in Itabashi Ward alone. With so many Matsuya locations clustered within walking distance around Yotsuba, picking which one to visit might turn into its own challenge.
