Matsuya Goi Store Shortens Operating Hours to 9:00 AM–10:00 PM

It has come to light that the operating hours at Matsuya Goi Store have changed. The store, located in Goichuonishi, Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, has had its hours revised from the previous 8:00 AM–11:30 PM to 9:00 AM–10:00 PM, with the new hours now reflected in the store information on Matsuya’s official website.

Opening an Hour Later, Closing 90 Minutes Earlier

Comparing before and after, the opening time has moved back an hour, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, while the closing time has moved up 90 minutes, from 11:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Daily operating hours have gone from 15 hours 30 minutes to 13 hours, a reduction of two hours 30 minutes in total.

Across all Matsuya locations, a 9:00 AM–10:00 PM schedule is a rare setup found at only one other store besides Goi Store: Matsuya Kakogawa Noguchicho Store in Hyogo Prefecture.

Two Matsuya Stores Remain in Ichihara City

Only two Matsuya stores are currently operating within Ichihara City: Goi Store and Matsuya Ichihara Shirogane-dori Store. Ichihara Shirogane-dori Store is the closest Matsuya location to Goi Store, with a straight-line distance of about 2.34 kilometers between the two. Ichihara Shirogane-dori Store continues to operate 24 hours a day, so even within the same city the two stores’ operating styles diverge.

Chiba Prefecture has 77 Matsuya stores, ranking fifth nationwide after Tokyo (337 stores), Osaka Prefecture (111 stores), Kanagawa Prefecture (111 stores), and Saitama Prefecture (103 stores).
