Matsuya Foods announced on October 1 that it will launch the new menu item “Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice,” a Matsuya-style take on the popular “Kashmir Curry and Rice” from its curry specialty restaurant “My Curry Shokudo,” at Matsuya stores nationwide (excluding some locations) from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. It is the second curry in the “Neo” lineup, following the “Neo Tomato” curry offered in June.

Second “Neo” Curry After June’s “Neo Tomato,” With Prices Unchanged

This is the second limited-time curry to carry the “Neo” name, after “Neo Tomato Curry and Rice,” which went on sale on June 9, 2026. The tax-included prices of the four basic set-meal grades match those of the previous Neo Tomato versions down to the yen.

This price range also matches Matsuya’s regular “Founding Beef Curry and Rice” at every grade. The Neo Kashmir-exclusive “Chunky Chicken Curry and Rice” at 1,050 yen costs the same as the equivalent grade of the previous Neo Tomato, and the standalone Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice at 560 yen is the same as the standalone Founding Beef Curry and Rice at 560 yen. You can choose a curry with a new kind of spice at the same price as the regular curries.

My Curry Shokudo’s Signature Curry, Matsuya Style

According to the official announcement, Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice is the popular “Kashmir Curry and Rice” from “My Curry Shokudo,” the curry specialty restaurant of the Matsuya Foods Group, “arriving as a new ‘Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice’ with a Matsuya-style twist.” Matsuya says it combines a smooth curry sauce with deep richness from slow simmering and a spice kick that creeps up on you afterward. The promotional image also carries the copy “We made an easy-to-eat Kashmir Curry!” and “Spice that creeps up on you afterward.”

This is only the second time Matsuya has released a new curry based on a My Curry Shokudo dish, following “Chunky Vegetable Soup Curry and Rice” in October 2021.

Eight Items in the Lineup, Including a Lunch-Only 780 Yen Option

The lineup consists of eight items, set meals and standalone options combined. They come with miso soup and are available for takeout (for takeout, miso soup costs extra; at stores co-located with My Curry Shokudo, miso soup is not included).

The curry goes on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Matsuya stores nationwide excluding some locations. Shareholder benefit vouchers can also be used.

The official Matsuya Foods app will also distribute a coupon for up to 50 yen off. It will be available from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13.

Previous Neo Tomato Was Delisted After 35 Days

The previous “Neo Tomato” curry was on sale for 35 days, from its June 9 launch until it was delisted on July 14. Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice is likely to run for a limited period as well. At present, the “Spinach and Cottage Cheese Curry and Rice” series, which debuted on September 22, is also on sale alongside it.

The timeline from announcement to launch is also the same as last time: just as Neo Tomato was announced on Thursday, June 4 and launched on Tuesday, June 9, this one was announced on Thursday, October 1 and launched on Tuesday, October 6.
