Matsuya "Ichinomiya Onishi Store": "August 8, 10 AM Opening" Notice Disappears from Store Name

Matsuya’s official store information has revealed that the “*August 8, 10 AM Opening” notice attached to the name of Matsuya Ichinomiya Onishi Store (2307) has disappeared, switching to the standard listing for an operating store.

Past the Scheduled Opening Date, Now a Standard Store Listing

Until now, the store’s name was listed as “Matsuya Ichinomiya Onishi Store (Matsunoya co-located) *August 8, 10 AM Opening,” with the scheduled opening date attached. With this update, the trailing “*August 8, 10 AM Opening” has been removed, leaving the standard listing “Matsuya Ichinomiya Onishi Store (Matsunoya co-located).” At the same time, the August 8, 10 AM opening date and time held in the store data has also been cleared.

The store first appeared in the store list on July 17 with the “*August 8, 10 AM Opening” notice, and opened after about three weeks of advance notice. The notice remained for a while even after the scheduled opening date of August 8 passed, and it was removed six days later, on August 14. The listing on the official site indicates the store opened as scheduled and has entered its operating phase.

The Second Matsuya in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture

Ichinomiya Onishi Store is located at 3327 Koshin-Nakajima Aza Gohoku, Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, and is co-located with a Matsunoya. Within Ichinomiya City, it becomes the second Matsuya, following the existing Matsuya Ichinomiya Store (0638, Akami 1-2-4). The two stores are about 7km apart in a straight line, positioned to cover separate areas of the city. Since Ichinomiya Store is also co-located with a Matsunoya, both Matsuya stores in Ichinomiya City are Matsunoya co-located stores.

The Spread of the Matsunoya Co-located Format

According to Matsuya’s official store list, there are 475 stores nationwide co-located with a Matsunoya. Within Aichi Prefecture, 26 of the 54 existing stores (about 48%) are Matsunoya co-located, a rate above the national average (475 of 1,209 existing stores, about 39%). Ichinomiya Onishi Store is another new addition to this Matsunoya co-located format, adding one more to the co-located openings Matsuya has been expanding in recent years in Aichi Prefecture.

The developments toward Ichinomiya Onishi Store’s opening, which began with the notice-attached listing on July 17, have now reached a milestone with the removal of the notice this time.
