Matsuya’s collaboration with the TV anime ONE PIECE, which began on June 30, 2026, ended at 9:59 a.m. on October 6, exactly as officially announced. The seven items, headlined by the Giant Serving Set and six ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Sets, all vanished from the menu on the official Matsuya website the same day, and the dedicated ONE PIECE Collaboration category was removed along with them.

The End Date Never Changed Since the Phase 1 Announcement

The collaboration was announced in an official notice published on June 19, 2026, with the period given as “June 30, 2026 (Tue) 10:00 a.m. to October 6, 2026 (Tue) 9:59 a.m.” After Phase 1, which started on June 30, the lineup switched to Phase 2 on August 18, but the end date and time stayed at 9:59 a.m. on October 6, as set in the Phase 1 announcement, and were not extended for Phase 2. It was a long-running campaign of about 99 days, from June 30 to October 6.

As the end approached, the official X account repeatedly reminded fans of the deadline. A September 25 post said, “Phase 2 runs until 10/6 (Tue) 9:59 a.m.!” and an October 5 post stated, “The entry period for the Original Collaboration Bowl ends tomorrow, 10/6 (Tue) at 9:59 a.m.!” This was not an accidental sellout; the items ended on the date announced from the start.

The Seven Items That Disappeared, and the Giant Serving Set’s Price

The following seven items were discontinued. All debuted on June 30, 2026, and stayed on the lineup for about three months.

  • Giant Serving Set (1,430 yen)
  • ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Set (660 yen)
  • ONE PIECE Bowl of Mixed Simmered Beef and Kimchi Set (760 yen)
  • ONE PIECE Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce Set (760 yen)
  • ONE PIECE Beef Bowl topped with Cheese Set (860 yen)
  • ONE PIECE Beef Bowl topped with Green Onion and Soft Boiled Egg Set (860 yen)
  • ONE PIECE Tomato Beef Bowl topped with Cheese Set (890 yen)

At 1,430 yen, the Giant Serving Set was the most expensive item across Matsuya’s entire beef bowl lineup. It was priced 340 yen above the Extra-large Serving (Large Serving Simmered Beef & Onion, 1,090 yen) of the Beef Bowl topped with Tomato and Cheese, the priciest item in the regular lineup, putting it in a price range far above anything else among the beef bowls.

Matsuya has collaborated with various characters in the past, including Sumikko Gurashi and Chiikawa, but this was its first collaboration with the TV anime ONE PIECE.

The Pricing Logic Behind the Six ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Sets

The six ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Sets were described in the official notice as “a hearty bowl with an extra-large serving of rice and three times the regular amount of meat and onions.” Lined up side by side, all six were priced exactly 200 yen above the Regular Serving of the corresponding standalone item, and exactly 200 yen below that item’s Extra-large Serving (Large Serving Simmered Beef & Onion).

Base standalone item Regular Serving ONE PIECE Set Extra-large Serving (Large Serving Simmered Beef & Onion)
Beef Bowl 460 yen 660 yen 860 yen
Bowl of Mixed Simmered Beef and Kimchi 560 yen 760 yen 960 yen
Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce 560 yen 760 yen 960 yen
Beef Bowl topped with Cheese 660 yen 860 yen 1,060 yen
Beef Bowl topped with Green Onion and Soft Boiled Egg 660 yen 860 yen 1,060 yen
Beef Bowl topped with Tomato and Cheese 690 yen 890 yen 1,090 yen

All six matched both “Regular Serving + 200 yen” and “Extra-large Serving − 200 yen.” If the official pitch of three times the meat and onions held true, that means a bigger portion than the standard Extra-large Serving for 200 yen less, a price point unique to the collaboration period.

Notably, the official notice used the exact same “three times the regular amount” description for the Giant Serving Set as for the ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Sets, so the notice text does not reveal what accounts for the 1,430 yen price gap.

When the collaboration launched, a new ONE PIECE Collaboration category was added to the menu, and the seven items went on sale the same day. About three months later, all seven items and the category ended their listing together on the announced date.

Editor's Note

The official X account reminded fans again and again right up to the exact 9:59 a.m. cutoff, which is admirably dutiful. With the Giant Serving Set at 1,430 yen, plenty of people probably missed their last chance to take it on.
