On the evening of July 24, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) announced once more, this time with photos of the actual dish, the new menu item “Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef,” which goes on sale at 10 a.m. on July 28. Describing it as “a new menu item that is a lavish way to enjoy roast beef, with maximum visual appeal and generous volume,” the account stepped up its promotion four days before the release.

The item was already announced in advance in Matsuya’s official news notice dated July 23, so this X post is the second announcement ahead of the actual launch. The official X account also showed how the dish is plated and the full four-item lineup in photos, adding to the promotion just before release.

A Dish Dressed in Egg Yolk and Two Kinds of Sauce

In the published photo, the centerpiece is thinly sliced roast beef piled high, with a single glossy egg yolk set in the middle. One side of the roast beef is drizzled with a white, creamy sauce, and the other with a deep reddish-brown sauce that appears to contain coarsely chopped aromatics. Chopped green onions finish the dish, and the contrast between the rosy cross-section of the beef and the yolk stands out. Beside the plate, the catchphrase “A melting indulgence, a blissful dish to savor with all five senses.” is also included.

Four Items in All, with the Only Version at 880 Yen Including Miso Soup

The lower part of the photo lines up three variations in addition to the Only version: “Double,” with extra roast beef; “Founding Beef Curry and Rice,” paired with curry; and “Beef Bowl,” served over a beef bowl. Together with the Only version, that makes four items in all. The prices match the official news notice and are as follows.

Two New Menu Items Launch Together on July 28

July 28 at 10 a.m. is not a day when only the roast beef moves. In the same official announcement dated July 23, Matsuya also announced that it will release “Mirai no Lemon Sour” in limited quantities starting at 10 a.m. that day. It comes in two types, Original and Plain, at 290 yen each, and is available at select Matsuya and Matsunoya stores.

With a meal-oriented new menu item and a limited-quantity drink arriving at the same time, July 28 will be a day of overlapping new menu items for Matsuya. The official X account piling on with photos right before release is likely also meant to build buzz for the day.
