Matsuya Adds Store-limited '100% Beef Hamburg Steak Set Meal' at 1,280 Yen From July 21, 2026

Matsuya will launch the “100% Beef Hamburg Steak Set Meal” as a Store-limited item at 70 stores nationwide. The item appears on the store-limited page of Matsuya’s official website, priced at 1,280 yen. It pairs a 100% beef hamburg steak with rich tomato sauce, and the official announcement lists sales as starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

A 100% Beef Hamburg Steak Draped in Tomato Sauce

The announcement visual sets a large white “100% BEEF” logo and a script “with Tomato Sauce” against a deep red background. A black cast-iron plate in the center holds a steaming hamburg steak, generously topped with deep-red tomato sauce and big pieces of sauteed onion, with a sprinkle of parsley.

The banner at the bottom of the visual reads “Savor the ‘Rich Umami Tomato Sauce’ with overflowing juices.” The specs are a 200g hamburg steak, served with rice, a fresh vegetable salad and the carefully made miso soup, all for 1,280 yen. As a set meal, it comes with rice, a salad (fresh vegetables) and miso soup, and a note says the miso soup is not included with takeout orders.

True to the name “100% Beef,” the item puts the proportion of beef front and center rather than relying on fillers.

Available at 70 Stores Across 26 Prefectures

The item will be sold at 70 stores nationwide, spread across 26 prefectures. The participating stores can be checked on Matsuya’s official store locator page.

Tokyo has the most with 20 stores. Saitama and Osaka have 7 each, Kanagawa has 6 and Chiba has 5, so urban areas in the Kanto and Kinki regions lead the list. Elsewhere, from Hokkaido (Sapporo Ekimae-dori Store and Satozuka Store) in the north to Kagoshima Prefecture (Kanoya Kotobuki Store) in the south, one or two stores are scattered across each region. Tokyo’s 20 stores make up about 29% of the total. That is close to Tokyo’s share of Matsuya’s entire current store network (about 28%), which suggests the participating stores were chosen to roughly mirror the regional balance of the whole network rather than favoring a particular area.

Hamburg Steaks Keep Coming, in Both the Classic and Store-limited Lineups

Hamburg steak has been a busy category for Matsuya lately, in both the Classic Menu and the Store-limited lineup. The most recent Store-limited example is the “MATSUYA DELI Hamburg Steak & Boneless Short Rib Plate” (800 yen, up to 70 stores), which went on sale on July 6, 2026, and the “100% Beef Hamburg Steak Set Meal” follows it. Going back further, three items including the “Hamburg Steak with Black Carbonara Sauce Set Meal” joined the Store-limited lineup on May 26, 2026, so this is not the first time hamburg steak items have been added to the Store-limited category.

On the Classic Menu side, four items received a “To Be Discontinued Successively” note on the same day, May 26, 2026: the “Hamburg Steak with Demi-glace Sauce and Omelet Set Meal,” the “Hamburg Steak with Demi-glace Sauce, Cheese and Omelet Set Meal,” the “Hamburg Steak with Demi-glace Sauce Set Meal” and the “Tomato Hamburg Steak Meal w/ Half-and-Half Beef.” The shrinking of the Classic hamburg steak set meals and the introduction of new hamburg steaks in the Store-limited category have been moving in parallel at around the same time.

The 70-store scale of this rollout is also a standard size that has appeared repeatedly among Store-limited menu items since May.
