It is an original piece of writing that opens with the first-person introduction “I’m (´∀｀), a huge ramen fan” and closes with “You’ve just gotta slurp it!” There is no corresponding notice on the official website. The emoticon “(´∀｀)” at the start is one Matsuya’s official X account has used often in past posts, and the text stacks three exclamation marks before it ends.

The quoted Junk Garage post stated both the product name and the release date.

The bowl takes Matsuya’s “Umatoma,” arranges it into a spicy-savory Chiritoma, and serves it as a cold mazesoba; Matsuya’s own post also notes that it was arranged “so it works cold too.” One difference from the previous collab announcement (in April): that one did not give a part number and simply said “Next up is Umatoma Mazesoba,” whereas this time the post puts a number on it with “Part 3.”

The Path From Part 1, “Umatoma Mazesoba”

Matsuya and Junk Garage’s Umatoma collab was announced in the same format back in April. On April 13, Matsuya’s official X account quoted a Junk Garage post to introduce the “Umatoma Mazesoba,” which went on sale at all Junk Garage locations on April 22. Counting from the Part 1 release, this Part 3 comes about four months later.

The timing of the announcement differs between the two. Part 1 was announced in advance, nine days before release, whereas this time the post went up on August 19, the same day as the release, and in the 21:00 hour at night, so the announcement and the release landed on the same day. On the other hand, the two share one trait: this collab was not listed in the notices on Matsuya’s official website and was announced only through a quote on X.

“Umatoma,” Which Grew Out of the Beef Bowl

“Umatoma” is one of Matsuya’s staple arrangements. Starting with the “Beef Bowl topped with Tomato and Cheese,” released on April 7, 2026, it has expanded across multiple menu items, including as a sauce option for the Cheese-Filled Hamburg Steak and as the Umatoma Hamburg Steak at Matsuya PREMIUM Ginza. This time, the tomato flavor familiar from beef bowls and hamburg steaks has been placed on Junk Garage’s cold mazesoba and turned into a spicy-savory Chiritoma.
