On April 30, Matsuya announced that it will release the new “Taco Rice” at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Matsuya is promoting it as “a refreshingly spicy flavor to stimulate your appetite in early summer, with two kinds of sauce and crisp vegetables that taste better the more you mix them.” It says the dish is made with a double sauce of tangy, refreshing salsa sauce and taco rice sauce packed with the savory flavor of ground meat.

Double Sauce in 3 Styles

According to Matsuya, the sharp, tangy, refreshing “Salsa Sauce” and the “Taco Rice Sauce,” packed with the savory flavor of chunky ground meat, come together with crisp fresh vegetables and cheese in a single dish.

For those who want a heartier meal, there is the “Sausage and Egg Taco Rice” topped with Sausage and Egg, and the “Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal” in a set-meal format. Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa is also available on its own for 790 yen. The lineup lets customers choose spicy dishes either as a set meal or as a single bowl.
