Matsuya Adds "Discontinuation Notice" to 5 Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice Items — Announced Just One Week After Launch

On March 31, the “※To Be Discontinued Successively” label was confirmed to have been added to all 5 items in the Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice series on Matsuya’s menu page. The series had only launched on March 24, making this a discontinuation notice just one week after launch.

However, the series’ “Founding Beef Tongue Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice” (1,370 yen, Store-limited) does not carry the discontinuation label. It may continue to be sold as a store-limited item.

The Base “Founding Beef Curry and Rice” Remains a Regular Menu Item

“Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice” is a limited-time special version of “Founding Beef Curry and Rice,” which became a regular menu item in September 2025, with beef tongue added. Even after the Beef Tongue Curry and Rice is discontinued, the base Founding Beef Curry and Rice series (780 to 1,280 yen, 6 items total) will continue to be sold as a regular menu item.

“Meat-Piled Beef Bowl Bento” Also Delisted

On the same day, the “Meat-Piled Beef Bowl Bento” (1,000 yen, Takeout Only), which launched on February 24 as Part 4 of the Matsuya 60th Anniversary Project, was also delisted from the menu page. It had been on sale for about five weeks.

“Limited-Time” Flag Activated for the 3 Chicken Butter Items

Also, the “limited-time” flag was set today for the 3 items added today: “Stir-fried Chicken with Butter Soy Sauce Set Meal,” “Stir-fried Chicken with Butter Soy Sauce,” and “Garlic Butter Pork Short Rib & Egg Bowl.” It was already known at the time of the announcement that these were limited-time items, but this marks their formal reflection in the menu data as well.
