Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted at 9:00 a.m. on June 27, introducing “Benikinokobito,” one of the designs featured on the original pouches (six designs, given at random) offered with Kids’ Menu orders as part of the ongoing second round of the Kobito Zukan collaboration.

“Benikinokobito” Revealed in the Post

The post opens with, “Careless handling is dangerous! ‘Benikinokobito’ discovered!” and explains, “The Touchin (head part) becomes edible once the poison is removed, and it’s delicious in a stew!” According to the attached pouch design image, its habitat is listed as “wherever mushrooms grow,” and its body length as “15-20cm.” It is depicted wearing a red polka-dot mushroom cap on its head, with the Kobito Zukan logo and “NOT FOR SALE” in the lower left, and a “©Toshitaka Nabata” credit in the lower right.

Kids’ Menu Pouches Continue Their Weekly Design Reveals, Six Designs in Random Rotation

The pouches come free with orders from Matsuya’s Kids’ Menu, with designs given at random from a set of six. The official X account has been revealing this second batch of pouch designs one week at a time: “Sumomo no Uchi” (May 30), “Ichigo Kurenai” (June 6), “Amakurisotsu” (June 13), and “Takenokobito” (June 20) have appeared so far, with today’s “Benikinokobito” joining the lineup. Each reveal comes with the kind of distinctive creature-ecology details unique to Kobito Zukan, underscoring the collectible appeal of this kids’-menu perk.
