Matsuya Marks "Green Onion Mayo Spicy Beef Bowl" and "Mayo Kimchi Beef Bowl" To Be Discontinued Successively — "Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice" Delisted
On April 1, Matsuya’s menu page was confirmed to have added a “*To Be Discontinued Successively” notice to two items: the “Green Onion Mayo Spicy Beef Bowl” and the “Mayo Kimchi Beef Bowl.”
| Menu Item | Regular Serving Price | Calories (Regular Serving) |
|---|---|---|
| Green Onion Mayo Spicy Beef Bowl | 610 yen | 887 kcal |
| Mayo Kimchi Beef Bowl | 610 yen | 880 kcal |
Both items launched simultaneously on November 7, 2024, as “new dishes dedicated to mayo lovers,” and will be discontinued after roughly a year and five months on sale.
“Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice” Delisted
At the same time, the store-limited “Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice” (1,170 yen, 1,211 kcal) has been delisted from the menu page.
As reported in our March 31 article, five items in the Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice series had been marked “To Be Discontinued Successively,” while only the store-limited Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice remained without a discontinuation notice. Now that this Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice has also been delisted, all six items in the Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice series are either discontinued or delisted.
Status of the Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice Series
| Menu Item | Price | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice | 980 yen | To Be Discontinued Successively |
| Cheese Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice | 1,180 yen | To Be Discontinued Successively |
| Founding Beef Tongue Karegyu | 1,250 yen | To Be Discontinued Successively |
| Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice | 1,350 yen | To Be Discontinued Successively |
| Umatoma Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice | 1,480 yen | To Be Discontinued Successively |
| Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice (Store-limited) | 1,170 yen | Delisted |
Note that the base “Founding Beef Curry and Rice” series (without beef tongue) continues to be sold as a regular menu item.
Editor's Note
The mayo-based beef bowls lasted about a year and five months. The Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice skipped the discontinuation notice entirely and went straight to delisted — the fate of a store-limited item, perhaps.
