Matsuya Official X Enjoys 'Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl' for 70 Yen Off with MATSUYA PASS
Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) reported on the night of July 24, 2026, with photos, that it had ordered the ‘Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl’ for 70 yen off using the discount pass ‘MATSUYA PASS.’ The post described the flavor, saying ‘The mild tartness of the tomato pairs perfectly with the richness of the cheese’ and ‘It was a bowl I enjoyed without getting tired of it, right to the end,’ while also touching on the MATSUYA PASS usage deadline approaching at the end of July, urging followers not to forget to use it and to enjoy the savings right up to the last day.
A Bowl Covered in Tomato Sauce and Cheese, with the Number ‘70’ on the Card
The Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl is a Classic Beef Bowl menu item at Matsuya, made by layering melted cheese over the Beef Bowl and topping it with a tomato sauce bearing the name ‘Umatoma (tomato-based sauce).’ A Regular Serving costs 690 yen (tax included), with size options ranging from a Small Serving at 660 yen to a Large Serving at 910 yen, an Extra-large Serving at 1,090 yen, and a Large Topping-Only Serving at 860 yen. Items covered by MATSUYA PASS — Classic Beef Bowl, Bowl, and Curry and Rice dishes — get 70 yen off each, meaning a Regular Serving works out to the equivalent of 620 yen.
In the photo, the bowl is piled with plenty of beef, topped with melted white and yellow cheese, its center covered in red tomato sauce and sprinkled with green parsley. The ‘MATSUYA’ logo is embossed on the rim of the bowl, with a thick Miso Soup served on the right side in front. At the back of the tray sits the blue MATSUYA PASS card used for this payment, showing the numbers ‘100’ and ‘70’ on its face. These represent the discount amounts by target category — 100 yen off Classic Set Meals and 70 yen off Classic Beef Bowl, Bowl, and Curry and Rice dishes — and since the Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl falls under the Beef Bowl category, the 70 yen discount was applied.
The Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl is a relatively new Classic menu item, announced for release in the April 2, 2026 notice ‘The Hugely Popular “Umatoma” Finally Joins Forces!’ and added to the menu page on April 7 of the same month. Since its release, the Regular Serving price of 690 yen has remained unchanged.
The Third MATSUYA PASS Tasting Post, Following the Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal and Kimchi Kalbi Bowl
This marks the third post in which the official X account has introduced an actual meal purchased using the July edition of MATSUYA PASS. On July 15, it reported on the ‘Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal,’ varying the flavor with the included mayonnaise; on July 17, it reported ordering the ‘Kimchi Kalbi Bowl’ for 70 yen off; and now, on July 24, the Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl — each time with photos. By directly showing scenes of the pass actually being used, the account continues to demonstrate concretely where the discount applies.
MATSUYA PASS Runs Through July 31, Making a Return After February
The MATSUYA PASS used for this payment is the July edition discount card, announced for sale on June 22, 2026, under the title ‘It’s Back! Enjoy Matsuya Meals at a Discount, As Many Times As You Like in July.’ It costs 200 yen (tax included) and is valid from 0:00 on July 1 to 23:59 on July 31. It offers discounts of up to 100 yen off eligible Classic items.
This pass first appeared on February 19, 2026, for ‘March Matsuya Meals,’ then went unannounced from April through May before returning in June under the banner of a ‘comeback’ for the July edition. Since the July edition went on sale, the official X account has alternated between posts introducing actual meals and reminders of the usage deadline, including ‘Haven’t You Forgotten to Use It?’ on July 13 and ‘About 10 Days Left Until the Deadline’ on July 21. This latest post comes in the final stretch of the countdown, with less than a week remaining until the July 31 deadline.
Editor's Note
Sweet-and-sour tomato, melted cheese, and a warm Miso Soup to finish it off — if this bowl is 70 yen off, it's hard not to want to stop by at least once before the deadline.
