At 10 AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Matsuya began selling its new ‘Neo Kashmir Curry’ series at Matsuya stores nationwide, except for some locations. The series is a Matsuya-style take on the ‘Kashmir Curry’ that proved popular at My Curry Shokudo, the curry specialty restaurant of the Matsuya Foods group. Built around the base ‘Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice’ at 680 yen (560 yen Only), the lineup totals 6 items with Chunky Chicken, Karegyu, Cheese, Hamburg Steak, and Loin Cutlet variations.

In addition to the base curry, a ‘Neo Kashmir Curry Lunch’ at 780 yen is also available from 11 AM to 3 PM only. Note that the Only version of the Chunky Chicken Curry and Rice was listed at 860 yen in the October 1 launch announcement, but the menu page lists it at 930 yen, a gap of 70 yen.
Rebuilding My Curry Shokudo’s ‘Kashmir Curry’ the Matsuya Way
According to the official description, the smooth, silky curry sauce has been rearranged into a taste that combines deep, slowly simmered richness with a spice kick that gradually washes over you afterward. Matsuya says it pursued ‘ease of eating while keeping the authentic heat,’ and promotes the experience as a spicy one.
The lineup centers on three items: the basic ‘Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice’ to enjoy simply, the meat-packed ‘Neo Kashmir Chunky Chicken Curry and Rice,’ and the ‘Neo Kashmir Hamburg Steak Curry and Rice’ paired with a hamburg steak.
At 1,050 yen (930 yen Only), the Chunky Chicken Curry and Rice is the most expensive of the 6 items, and it has the most protein and fat in the series. The generous use of chicken shows up in the nutritional values as well.
The Hamburg Steak Curry and Rice is 890 yen and 1,007kcal. Also available are the ‘Neo Kashmir Karegyu’ (950 yen), which adds beef bowl topping, and the ‘Neo Kashmir Cheese Curry and Rice’ (880 yen), which layers on cheese.
Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice Only at Matsunoya Co-located Stores
Of the 6 items, the ‘Neo Kashmir Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice’ (1,070 yen) is sold only at stores co-located with Matsunoya, according to the official campaign announcement. The price list in the October 1 launch announcement includes only the base curry, the Cheese, Hamburg Steak, Karegyu, and Chunky Chicken items plus the Lunch, and does not list the Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice. Note that you can order it only at Matsuya stores that have a Matsunoya alongside.
Prices Match ‘Founding Beef’ and ‘Previous Neo Tomato’ to the Yen
Neo Kashmir Curry prices line up item by item with Matsuya’s signature ‘Founding Beef Curry and Rice’ series. They also match, down to the Only versions and to the yen, the previous ‘Neo Tomato Curry and Rice’ series, which was sold for about 5 weeks from Tuesday, June 9 to Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
| Menu | Neo Kashmir | Founding Beef | Neo Tomato (Jun–Jul) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Curry and Rice | 680 yen (560 yen Only) | 680 yen (560 yen Only) | 680 yen (560 yen Only) |
| Chunky Chicken Curry and Rice | 1,050 yen (930 yen Only) | ― | 1,050 yen (930 yen Only) |
| Karegyu | 950 yen | 950 yen | 950 yen |
| Cheese Curry and Rice | 880 yen | 880 yen | 880 yen |
| Hamburg Steak Curry and Rice | 890 yen | 890 yen | 890 yen |
| Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice | 1,070 yen | 1,070 yen | 1,070 yen |
This is the second series to carry the ‘Neo’ name, following the ‘Neo Tomato Curry and Rice’ of June and July. The 6-item structure and the lineup of Curry / Chunky Chicken / Karegyu / Cheese / Hamburg Steak / Loin Cutlet also match the previous run, so the price table’s frame stays the same while only the curry inside has been swapped from tomato to Kashmir. Only the Chunky Chicken Curry and Rice has no equivalent at the same price on the Founding Beef side, and its 1,050 yen matches the limited-time ‘Spinach and Cottage Cheese Karegyu.’
Neo Kashmir Curry does not replace any existing curry; it was added alongside them. The Matsuya curry lineup now has three lines side by side: the regular ‘Founding Beef Curry and Rice’ series, the ‘Spinach and Cottage Cheese Curry and Rice’ (Palak Paneer) series that debuted on September 22, and this new ‘Neo Kashmir Curry and Rice’ series.

Editor's Note
In half a year, tomato gave way to Kashmir: the 'Neo' frame stayed the same and only the contents were swapped. What flavor will it come back as next?
