Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted around 10 PM on October 10 that it had visited conveyor-belt sushi restaurant “Sushimatsu Yachiyo Store,” which opened in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture. The post, accompanied by two store photos, read, “We went to Sushimatsu Yachiyo Store!! So cool 😌😌 (╹◡╹)”. The store opened on September 29, meaning the official account’s visit report came 11 days after opening.

An Exterior That Stands Out at Night

The first photo attached to the post shows the exterior at night, with the eaves edged in vivid green neon tubing along the black wood-grain exterior walls. On the right stands a blue round logo reading “SUSHI MATSU” alongside an illustration of two pieces of nigiri sushi, with the store name “Sushimatsu” rendered in red-and-white dimensional lettering, and below it the words “Order-Style Conveyor-Belt Sushi” in red text. At the entrance, a green-and-white checkered noren curtain hangs alongside banners decorated with tuna nigiri.

A Visit Report of Just 31 Characters

The post text itself was only 31 characters long. The account has repeatedly posted this kind of visit report, using phrases like “We went” to announce a store visit, but most of those past posts ran over 100 characters. This time, the text was pared down to just the store name and the single word “cool.” Ending with the emoticon “(╹◡╹)” is the standard format for this type of post, but this time two “😌” emoji were stacked right before it, an addition not usually seen in the account’s visit reports.

The Same “Cool” as the Opening Announcement

On the opening day, September 29, Matsuya’s official account quoted Sushimatsu’s official account’s (@sushimatsu_mf) opening announcement post and wrote, “I got report photos from the Sushimatsu staff! So cool…. (╹◡╹) I want to go there soon too.” This latest post reports on that “want to go” having become an actual visit, carrying over the same “cool” assessment used on opening day.

Looking Up Inside the Store

The second photo looks up inside the store. The white ceiling features an oval design framed by wooden louvers, lined with ceiling-mounted cassette-type air conditioning units and downlights. The wall on the right is decorated with blue-toned hexagonal tiles, and the digital menu displays the “Kid’s Meal with Gacha Toy” priced at 500 yen (550 yen with tax).

Following Mitaka Minamiguchi Store and Senkawa Store

Sushimatsu Yachiyo Store opened following Mitaka Minamiguchi Store, which opened in June, and Senkawa Store, which opened in September. The opening-day announcement also mentioned the “Three-Piece Bluefin Tuna Nigiri Platter One-Coin Fair,” running through October 7, but by the time of this latest post, that fair had already ended. News of new Sushimatsu conveyor-belt sushi store openings has consistently been conveyed not through Matsuya’s official news page, but through Matsuya’s official account quoting posts from Sushimatsu’s official X account.

Editor's Note

Just the one word: "cool." With green neon against a wood-grain exterior, it really does stand out at night.
