Matsuya's Official X Quote-Reposts Sushimatsu Yachiyo Store's Opening Today
Matsuya Foods’ conveyor belt sushi chain “Sushimatsu” opened its Yachiyo Store on September 29, 2026. That evening, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) quote-reposted the opening announcement from Sushimatsu’s official account (@sushimatsu_mf), writing “Sushimatsu Yachiyo Store opens today!!” and adding photos of the store sent in by the local staff. According to the original Sushimatsu post, the Yachiyo Store opened at 11:00 a.m. and was already full, drawing a strong turnout.
The Store on Opening Day, Photos from the Local Staff
The Matsuya official X team introduced two photos “received as report shots” from the Sushimatsu staff, commenting “so cool.” The photos show the brand-new store lit up under the evening sky, its eaves traced in warm bulb-colored and yellow-green lines. Congratulatory flower stands line the entrance, a sign on the glass reads “Three-Piece Bluefin Tuna Nigiri Platter, One-Coin, 500 yen,” and a banner reading “Opening Sale Now On” stands to the right of the store. Sushimatsu’s logo — a round emblem combining nigiri pieces with the text “SUSHI MATSU” — is also visible, under the brand’s banner of “order-made conveyor belt sushi.” The pavement is wet, matching the line in the original post: “Thank you so much for coming despite the poor footing.”
Three-Piece Bluefin Tuna Nigiri Platter One-Coin Fair Through October 7
The original Sushimatsu post announces that the Yachiyo Store is running its “Three-Piece Bluefin Tuna Nigiri Platter One-Coin Fair through Wednesday, October 7! Please enjoy Sushimatsu’s prized bluefin tuna.” According to the in-store signage, this “one coin” price is 500 yen. Sushimatsu’s push to feature bluefin tuna has continued: in early September, a campaign offered a single piece of Bluefin Tuna Chutoro (medium fatty tuna) for 100 yen (110 yen with tax) through September 9. This three-piece platter one-coin fair is a separate promotion, with different content and a different period, tied specifically to the Yachiyo Store opening.
Following Mitaka Minamiguchi and Senkawa
This marks another in a run of new Sushimatsu openings announced on Matsuya’s official X account. On June 12, 2026, the “Mitaka Minamiguchi Store” opened in Mitaka — home turf for Matsuya Foods’ head office — and on September 24, the “Senkawa Store” opened; both were introduced via quote-reposts from Matsuya’s official X account. The Yachiyo Store opening comes just five days after Senkawa’s. The Mitaka Minamiguchi and Senkawa stores were introduced as locations offering Sushimatsu’s “self-service all-you-can-drink,” but neither this Yachiyo Store post nor the original post it quotes mentions all-you-can-drink; the Three-Piece Bluefin Tuna Nigiri Platter One-Coin Fair takes center stage instead.
Sushimatsu also carries a long history as a brand. Looking back through Matsuya’s official site archives, by the time the “Sushimatsu Kawaguchi Store” opened in November 2018, the brand already operated five stores in the greater Tokyo area, and that Kawaguchi opening was introduced at the time as its first new store in “about ten years.” Openings have picked up pace in recent times.
Closing with “I Want to Go Soon Too”
The Matsuya official X post closes with “I want to go soon too.” In past posts about Sushimatsu openings, the account mentioned the staff member’s own visit — “definitely going today” for the Senkawa Store, “went right away” for the Mitaka Minamiguchi Store — but this time the post only introduces photos sent in by the local staff, without mentioning when they plan to visit. The emoticon at the end (╹◡╹) is one the account frequently uses.
Editor's Note
Senkawa's afterglow hasn't faded, and already there's Yachiyo. This is one to visit while the Three-Piece Bluefin Tuna Nigiri Platter is still just one coin.
