On August 16, Matsuya posted on its official X account, “A coupon offering up to 10% back on PayPay payments of 800 yen or more via the Matsuya App is currently available,” once again publicizing the ongoing PayPay coupon. The coupon is part of the “Matsuya App Summer Vacation Coupon,” which has been running since August 1 and continues through August 31. This marks the third time the campaign has been featured on the official X account, following the distribution’s launch on August 1 and a follow-up post on August 2.

Applies to Mobile Orders Including Matsuben Net, Capped at 200 Points Per Use

According to the notice image attached to the post, the coupon applies to orders placed through Matsuben Net, Matsuya Mobile Order, Matsuben Delivery, and the Matsuben Net Mini App. Paying 800 yen or more (tax included) via PayPay earns back up to 10% in PayPay Points, capped at 200 points per use. If multiple coupons are earned at the same store, only the one with the highest payout is applied. Points are granted at a later date and cannot be withdrawn or transferred.

The same Summer Vacation Coupon also includes a tier offering up to 15% back on payments of 1,200 yen or more (tax included), which was the one publicized on the official X account on August 2. The “800 yen or more, up to 10%” tier announced this time is the option usable from a lower spending threshold.

Multiple Promotions Running in Parallel on the Same Day

August 16, the day of this post, was also a day when Matsuya’s official X account sent out a string of announcements related to prepared foods. That same day, a 4 p.m. post announced an X Coupon bringing a Regular Serving Beef Bowl down to 390 yen, an 11 a.m. post invited reactions to the Matsuya x ONE PIECE Collaboration “Original Acrylic Block Chopstick Rest,” and a 9 a.m. post publicized a Matsuya App-exclusive bulk side dish purchase offering up to 250 yen off, valid through that same day.

Payment-related deals aren’t limited to the PayPay coupon alone. Since August 8, the “au PAY Time-Limited Up to 15% Ponta Points Back Campaign” has been running: paying 600 yen or more between 3:00 p.m. and 10:59 p.m. earns points for every 200 yen spent, up to 15% back, through August 23. Matsuya is running multiple cashless initiatives simultaneously in mid-August, rotating rebate campaigns by payment method.

PayPay x Matsuya, a Recurring Pair Since Spring, With Shifting Rebate Terms

Coupons combining the Matsuya App with PayPay aren’t unique to this summer — they’ve recurred repeatedly since spring. In July, a coupon offering up to 10% back exclusively for SoftBank users was distributed throughout the month, and at the end of June, a last-chance notice went out for a coupon set to end within that month.

Looking back at past announcements, the rebate terms themselves have never stayed fixed. June saw a two-day-only round offering up to 40% back, and on August 2 the 1,200-yen-or-more, up-to-15% tier was the one in the spotlight. The “800 yen or more, up to 10%” terms announced this time can be seen as settling at a fairly standard level amid that fluctuation. PayPay-linked rebates have been a staple promotional method for Matsuya since their introduction in 2018, with the company continuing to rotate campaigns across different payment providers.

With deals rotating through one payment method after another, it's worth peeking at the PayPay coupon screen before ordering from Matsuben so you don't miss out.
