Matsuya Launches 'Summer Vacation Coupon' for Up to 15% PayPay Cashback on App Orders, Aug 1–31
The Target Isn’t In-Store Payment — It’s ‘App/Online Orders + Advance Payment’
From Saturday, August 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, Matsuya Foods will distribute a ‘Summer Vacation Coupon’ that returns PayPay points to customers who order through the Matsuya App and other channels and pay in advance with PayPay. A single payment of 800 yen (tax included) or more earns up to 10% back, and 1,200 yen (tax included) or more earns up to 15% back, both capped at 200 points, and the coupon can be used any number of times during the campaign period. To use it, customers must first claim the coupon in the PayPay app, then place their order through the official Matsuya Foods app or the Matsuben Net Mini App.
This coupon does not apply to payments made at in-store ticket vending machines or registers. It applies only to orders placed through Matsuben Net, Matsuya Mobile Order, Matsuben Delivery, or the Matsuben Net Mini App, paid for in advance with PayPay. The conditions for the 10% and 15% coupons are as follows.
| Coupon | Payment Condition | Rebate Rate | Cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10% Coupon | PayPay advance payment of 800 yen (tax included) or more | Up to 10% | 200 points per use, unlimited uses during the campaign |
| 15% Coupon | PayPay advance payment of 1,200 yen (tax included) or more | Up to 15% | 200 points per use, unlimited uses during the campaign |
The 10% coupon and the 15% coupon must be claimed separately. If a customer claims both and then pays 1,200 yen or more, only the 15% coupon — the one with the higher rebate — is applied.
To Max Out the 200-Point Cap, Aim for an Order Around 1,334 Yen
With point-rebate campaigns, understanding how the cap is structured makes it easier to get the most out of them. This time, both coupons cap out at ‘200 points per use.’
- The 10% coupon returns 80 points on an 800-yen payment. Since exactly 10% of the payment amount comes back, reaching the 200-point cap requires a 2,000-yen payment.
- The 15% coupon returns 180 points on a 1,200-yen payment. The 200-point cap is reached at a payment of about 1,334 yen, and any amount beyond that still tops out at 200 points.
In other words, for any order over 1,200 yen, the 15% coupon always returns more than the 10% coupon. To efficiently claim the full 200 points, building an order around 1,334 yen with the 15% coupon is the most loss-free approach. Since the cap applies ‘per use’ and the coupon can be used any number of times during the campaign, splitting orders into multiple payments of around 1,334 yen each, rather than combining everything into one large order, works out to a higher total point haul.
Using menu prices as a reference: a single serving of the flagship Beef Bowl (Regular Serving) at 460 yen doesn’t reach the 800-yen line on its own, but three servings come to 1,380 yen, clearing the 15% line. Among the set meals, the Umatoma Hamburg Steak Set Meal, the Yatara Japanese-style Hamburg Steak Set Meal, and the Brown Sauce Hamburg Steak Set Meal are all priced at 1,180 yen — just 20 yen short of the 15% line. The Egg & Brown Sauce Hamburg Steak Set Meal (1,280 yen) clears the 15% line on its own.
Ten Matsuya Group Brands Included, Parking Area Locations Excluded
The campaign covers ten brands nationwide: Matsuya, Matsunoya, My Curry Shokudo, Sushimatsu, Shoken Chinese Dining, Matsutaro, Steak-ya Matsu, Steak Set Meal & Bowl Matsugyu, Mugi no Toriko, and Tukkun². However, some locations, including stores inside highway parking areas, are excluded. As noted above, the rebate applies only when both the order channel — Matsuben Net and similar — and advance payment via PayPay are used together.
Comparison with Past PayPay Coupon Campaigns
The framework of ‘distributing money-saving PayPay coupons usable through the Matsuya App’ has become a recurring initiative, starting with the celebration of reaching 5 million members in November 2025 and continuing in December, then February, April, and May 2026 — and this campaign is the latest installment in that series. Past editions were mostly framed around milestones such as membership counts or the company’s 60th anniversary, but this one is different in carrying the seasonal label ‘summer vacation.’
Most recently, from July 1, a separate coupon offering up to 10% PayPay cashback exclusively for SoftBank users ran through July 31. This Summer Vacation Coupon is a separate initiative with different eligibility conditions, and since it begins on August 1, it effectively picks up right where the SoftBank-exclusive coupon leaves off at the end of July.
In terms of the rebate rate, this round does not include a special tier like the one announced in late May for the 60th anniversary campaign, which pushed the rebate up to as much as 40% (capped at 350 points) for a two-day window on June 15–16. While the cap this time stays at a maximum of 15% and 200 points, the 15% tier for orders of 1,200 yen or more is designed to remain available throughout the entire month of August.

Editor's Note
Watching the Hamburg Steak Set Meal lineup fall just 20 yen short of the 15% line feels unusually close this time. Chasing that full amount makes you want to add just one more item.
