Matsuya Shonai Store to Close Temporarily for 13 Days Starting 3 PM on October 27

StoreTemporarily Closed

Matsuya Shonai Store (0804) will be temporarily closed for 13 days, from 3 PM on October 27, 2026, to 3 PM on November 9, 2026. On the Matsuya official website’s store list, the store’s name has been changed to “Matsuya Shonai Store *Temporarily closed from 3 PM on October 27, reopening at 3 PM on November 9.”

The Closure Runs from 3 PM on October 27 to 3 PM on November 9

Shonai Store is a standalone Matsuya store with no co-located brand, located on the first floor of the Kosei Building at 2-22-10 Shonai-Nishimachi, Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. According to the official website, the store is scheduled to suspend operations at 3 PM on Tuesday, October 27, and resume at 3 PM on Monday, November 9. The closure period works out to exactly 13 days. Since both the closing and reopening times are given down to the minute, the store name notation makes clear that this is a temporary, time-limited closure rather than a permanent one.

Five Matsuya Stores in Toyonaka City, Including Shonai Store

In addition to Shonai Store, four other stores are open in Toyonaka City — Toyonaka Kamitsushima Store (0904), Sone Store (0932), Toyonaka Kumanocho Store (2015), and Okamachi Store (2032) — bringing the total number of Matsuya stores in the city to five.

While Shonai Store is closed, the nearest Matsuya is Toyonaka Kamitsushima Store, roughly 1.6 km away in a straight line, followed by Mikuni Store (0847) in Yodogawa Ward, Osaka City, also about 1.6 km away. These are straight-line distances (the distance between two points on a map), which differ from actual walking routes or travel time, but multiple alternative stores exist within range of a walk or bike ride. Osaka Prefecture is home to 112 Matsuya stores in total, so Shonai Store’s closure amounts to a time-limited closure of just one store within the prefecture’s much larger network.

13 Days Is a Typical Length for a Matsuya Temporary Closure

The 13-day closure period at Shonai Store falls within the typical range for a Matsuya temporary closure. Looking at temporary closures announced at various Matsuya stores, the time until reopening is most often somewhere between 7 days and two weeks, with many clustering around 13 to 15 days. For planned closures believed to involve renovation or equipment replacement, Matsuya’s general pattern is to attach the reopening date and time to the store name in advance, and Shonai Store follows this same pattern.

Since the start of October, several Matsuya stores besides Shonai Store have one after another posted upcoming temporary closures on the official website, each accompanied by a planned reopening in roughly one to two weeks.

Editor's Note

About two weeks of patience. Since the reopening on November 9 falls on a Monday, Beef Bowl will be back on the menu in Shonai from the start of that week.
