Matsuya Omiya Higashiguchi and Another Store Reopen at 3 PM on October 23, 2026, After Temporary Closures

Matsuya Omiya Higashiguchi Store (0079) and Matsuya Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store (0938) reopened for business at 3 PM on October 23, 2026. Both stores had been closed temporarily for renovations and other reasons, but as of October 23, the temporary-closure notice that had been attached to their names on the Matsuya official store list has been removed, restoring their listings to the standard store-name format.

Different Closure Dates, Same Reopening Time of 3 PM on October 23

Omiya Higashiguchi Store had carried the notice “*Temporarily closed from 3 PM on October 19, reopening at 3 PM on October 23” next to its name. It closed at 3 PM on October 19 and reopened after about four days. Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store, meanwhile, carried the notice “*Temporarily closed from 3 PM on October 13, reopening at 3 PM on October 23,” and had been closed for about ten days starting at 3 PM on October 13.

Although the two stores closed on different dates, both reopened at the same time: 3 PM on October 23. The closure of Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store, including its planned reopening date, had been announced on the Matsuya official store list on September 29, and the reopening went exactly as announced. Around the same time, Matsuya Hiratsuka Kitakaname Store (1844) in Kanagawa Prefecture and Matsuya Kamisu Store (1753) in Ibaraki Prefecture reopened at 3 PM on October 22, making late October a period when reopenings from temporary closures continued at locations across the country.

Omiya Higashiguchi Is One of Three Stores in Omiya Ward

Matsuya Omiya Higashiguchi Store is located at 1-5, Miya-cho, Omiya-ku, Saitama-shi, Saitama. Within the same Omiya Ward are Matsuya Omiya Taiseicho Store (0730) and Matsuya Omiya Sakuragicho Store (0750), making it a dense area with three Matsuya locations in Omiya Ward alone. Saitama Prefecture has 104 Matsuya stores in total, the fourth-most of any prefecture after Tokyo, Osaka Prefecture, and Kanagawa Prefecture. Matsuya Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store is located at 90-1, Kawakami-cho, Totsuka-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa. It sits on the west side of JR Higashi-Totsuka Station, and the same Totsuka Ward is also home to Matsuya Higashi-Totsuka Higashiguchi Store (1875) on the east side, as well as Matsuya Totsuka Store (0925) near Totsuka Station. Higashi-Totsuka Station thus has a Matsuya at both its west and east exits. Kanagawa Prefecture has 111 Matsuya stores, the third-most of any prefecture after Tokyo and Osaka Prefecture, placing it in an area of high store density. Following its reopening, Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store is listed as operating from 8 AM to 11 PM (last order 30 minutes before close), the same as before.
