Matsuya Removes Extra Space Hidden in Closure Notice Again — Two Kanagawa Stores Including Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi

Matsuya quietly removed an extra space from the store names of two locations in Kanagawa Prefecture that had posted temporary-closure notices. A space had slipped into the end of the store name when the closure notice was added on September 29, and Matsuya removed just that space the following day, September 30.

Removing the Trailing Space Hidden in the Closure Notice

On September 29, Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store and Hiratsuka Kitakaname Store both had a notice beginning with “*Temporarily closed from 3 PM on October 13” added to their store names. At that point, one extra half-width space remained at the end of the notice, and on September 30 only that space was removed — the wording of the notice itself didn’t change. It’s a fix of a single space, barely noticeable to the eye.

Matsuya’s Recurring Pattern of Fixing “Extra Spaces”

Space-only corrections like this to store name text aren’t especially common across Matsuya as a whole. Still, this particular pattern — an extra space slipping in when a closure notice is added, then getting removed on its own days later — has happened before. In April this year, it occurred at Atsugi Store, Ichihara Shirogane-dori Store, and Fujiyoshida Store, and in September, at Machida Store — in each case, an extra space left behind in a closure notice was later removed.

Background: Both Stores Temporarily Close from 3 PM on October 13

Both stores whose spacing was corrected this time are temporarily closing from 3 PM on October 13, with Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store set to reopen at 3 PM on October 23 and Hiratsuka Kitakaname Store at 3 PM on October 22. The temporary closures themselves were already reported on September 29 as part of a notice covering three stores, including Kamisu Store in Ibaraki Prefecture.
