The number of stores carrying Matsuya’s store-limited menu item “Vanilla Shake” has grown by 12, from the 50 stores it had held since July 14 to 62. The additions break down into 4 stores in Ibaraki Prefecture, 3 in Shizuoka Prefecture, 2 in Saitama Prefecture, and 1 each in Gunma, Yamagata and Nagano Prefectures; no store has dropped out. Of these, Nagano Prefecture joins the list of prefectures carrying the Vanilla Shake for the first time with this expansion.

The 12 Added Stores and How the Lineup Differs from Last Time

This is not the first time the Vanilla Shake has reached 62 stores. On July 28 the count briefly went up to 62, then returned to a 50-store listing soon after. This latest expansion comes about a week later, and as of August 4 the official site still shows 62 stores.

Ten of the 12 stores added this time overlap with the lineup that appeared temporarily on July 28, but two have been swapped. Matsuya Koriyama Haga (0707) in Fukushima Prefecture and Matsuya Sakado Nissai (2085) in Saitama Prefecture, both included last time, are out this time, and in their place Matsuya Hitachinaka (0721) in Ibaraki Prefecture and Matsuya Ota Iizukacho (0731) in Gunma Prefecture have newly joined. Fukushima Prefecture was included just once on July 28, is not among the current 62 stores, and is not a prefecture carrying the Vanilla Shake.

Of the 12 added stores, 7 are co-located with Matsunoya and the remaining 5 are standalone stores. The most notable regional addition is Matsuya Shiojiri Yoshida (2109) in Nagano Prefecture. This store was also part of the temporary expansion on July 28 but dropped out soon after, so this is the first time Nagano continues as a carrying prefecture. It is the only carrying store in the prefecture, and each added store is shown in bold in the full store list below.

The “Vanilla Shake” Lineup and Prices

The Vanilla Shake is a shake product offered under Matsuya’s sweets line, “MATSU Sweets.” The promotional material pairs the copy “Sweet Matsuya, Unleashed.” with three kinds of cups lined up against a blue sky. It is listed as available from 5:00 to 24:00, all the way from morning to late night.

The lineup has three items: the plain “Vanilla Shake” (Small 180 yen, Medium 240 yen), the “Vanilla Shake & Strawberry” topped with red sauce and fruit (S 290 yen, M 350 yen), and the “Vanilla Shake & Choco Cocoa Cookie” drizzled with chocolate sauce (S 320 yen, M 380 yen). Each comes with a black straw, and the cups are decorated with the logo. All prices include tax.

List of the 62 Carrying Stores by Prefecture

The 62 carrying stores are spread across 1 metropolis and 11 prefectures, from Chiba Prefecture to Iwate Prefecture. Geographically, the northern end is Matsuya Ichinoseki in Iwate Prefecture, the southern end is Matsuya Iwata Iwai (2154) in Shizuoka Prefecture, newly added this time, and the western end is Matsuya Hamamatsu Hatsuicho (2076) in Shizuoka Prefecture, also newly added, so the southern and western areas have widened a little with this addition. By prefecture, Chiba Prefecture has the most with 13 stores, followed by Ibaraki Prefecture with 10 and Shizuoka Prefecture with 9. In the list below, bold marks the stores added this time.

The Path from 50 to 62 Stores

This product first appeared under the name “Matsu Shake” and started as a small rollout at 5 stores. It then gradually widened its carrying stores, from 5 to 12 stores on June 9 and from 12 to 30 stores on July 7, and reached a scale of 50 stores on July 14 after being renamed “Vanilla Shake” and getting a packaging refresh.

Date	Number of Carrying Stores
June 9, 2026	5→12 stores
July 7, 2026	12→30 stores
July 14, 2026 (renamed Vanilla Shake)	50 stores
July 28, 2026	Listed at 62 stores, then returned to 50 soon after
August 4, 2026	50→62 stores

After reaching 50 stores, a 62-store listing appeared once on July 28 and then returned to 50 soon after, but it has now widened to 62 stores again. As the height of summer arrives, the network of stores selling the shake, available from 5 a.m. through midnight, has grown further, from the Tohoku region to the Tokai region.
