At 10:00 a.m. on August 21, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) revealed the “Original Name Charm,” the Kids’ Menu giveaway for the second wave of its collaboration campaign with the TV anime ONE PIECE. Customers who order one Kids’ Menu item receive one randomly selected charm from a set of 12. The second wave began at 10:00 a.m. on August 18, and distribution is already underway.

Can Badge-style Charms: All 12 Designs

The post included an image showing the designs of all 12 charms to be distributed. The lineup covers ten characters — Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe — plus the pirate ship Thousand Sunny and the Straw Hat Pirates’ Jolly Roger, for 12 designs in total, with the one received determined randomly.

The Luffy charm, shown enlarged as a sample, features the character on the front and the Matsuya x ONE PIECE logo on a red background on the back. The charm is a round can badge strung with a colorful cord, and its size, excluding the cord, is specified as no larger than 50mm wide by 50mm tall. The Kids’ Menu is available both in-store and through orders placed via Matsuben Net, Matsuya Mobile Order, and Matsuya Delivery.

Wording Follows the First Wave’s Post

This post follows almost the same structure as the June 27 post that announced the Kids’ Menu giveaway for the first wave of the collaboration. That first-wave post read, in three lines: “Exclusive to Part 1 of the TV anime ONE PIECE collaboration campaign! / Order a Kids’ Menu item / and get an ‘Original Sticker Sheet (12 random designs)’!” This time, “Part 1” has been swapped for “Part 2,” and “Original Sticker Sheet” for “Original Name Charm.” The word order and punctuation placement match.

The August 14 post that previewed the giveaway switch ended with a gift emoji, but this post carries no emoji, ending instead with two exclamation points. Like the first-wave post, this is a standalone post that spells out all 12 designs, though the timing relative to the distribution period is reversed. The first-wave post announcing all 12 designs (June 27) came three days before that wave’s distribution began (June 30), while this post (August 21) comes three days after the second wave’s distribution began (August 18).

A Second-Wave Giveaway That Took Over From the Stickers

Matsuya’s collaboration with the TV anime ONE PIECE began on June 30, and the Kids’ Menu giveaway was initially the “Original Sticker Sheet” (12 random designs). At 10:00 a.m. on August 18, when the second wave, Natsu da! En da! Daimanpuku Matsuri, began, this giveaway switched to the “Name Charm.” Meanwhile, the “Original Acrylic Block Chopstick Rest” (12 designs) that comes with the Beef Bowl-based collaboration sets has continued unchanged through both the first and second waves.

The end date for the first-wave sticker giveaway was initially announced as “until 9:59 a.m. on August 17” in a post on the morning of August 7, then revised to “until 9:59 a.m. on August 18” in a post that same afternoon. Distribution of the second-wave Name Charm began at 10:00 a.m. that same day, immediately following this deadline. The second wave’s distribution period runs from 10:00 a.m. on August 18 to 9:59 a.m. on October 6.

Editor's Note

Which character you get is the fun part. With the whole Straw Hat Pirates crew lined up, some fans might keep ordering just to chase their favorite.
