Sushimatsu is offering bluefin tuna (hon-maguro) chutoro at 100 yen (110 yen tax included) per piece until Wednesday, September 9. Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) introduced the offer on the afternoon of Saturday, September 5, by quote-reposting an announcement from Sushimatsu’s official account (@sushimatsu_mf). Orders are limited to 2 pieces per person.

“Whoa!!!” — A Rare Note of Extra Enthusiasm

Matsuya’s own comment attached to the quote repost opens with “Whoa!!!” and continues, “This is seriously delicious. (╹◡╹)” and “If there’s a Sushimatsu near you, don’t miss it!!” The emoticon (╹◡╹) is a staple Matsuya’s official account uses often, but looking back through past posts, openings with “Whoa,” the casual word “seriously,” and a triple exclamation mark are all rare. The account is pushing this sister brand’s promotion with more emphasis than its usual announcements.

The figures and conditions — 100 yen (110 yen tax included) per piece, up to 2 pieces per person — carry over almost verbatim from Sushimatsu’s original announcement. Sushimatsu itself billed the offer as “A shocking price❗️You have to try this‼️,” and Matsuya added its own comments around that quote.

Sushimatsu Coverage Follows Store Openings and Collaborations

This marks the fourth time Matsuya’s official account has quote-reposted a Sushimatsu post. It follows the June 12 opening of the Sushimatsu Mitaka Minamiguchi Store and the July 9 and August 6 Sharin-supervised collaborations (tsukemen, cold kakemen), continuing a pattern of highlighting the sister brand. Previous features have centered on store openings and collaborations, making a limited-time discount on a single sushi item an unusual choice of topic.

Offer Ends Wednesday, September 9

The offer runs through Wednesday, September 9. This introduction came just 4 days before the deadline, leaving little time remaining. With the 2-piece-per-person cap, customers can’t stock up in a single order.

Editor's Note

Chutoro for 110 yen a piece? No wonder Matsuya's official account couldn't resist adding its own "seriously."
