Matsuya's Official X Tries the Sharin-Supervised Tsukemen Collab at 'Sushimatsu'

On the night of July 9, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted about visiting a store in person to try the tsukemen supervised by tsukemen specialty chain Sharin, which went on sale the same day at the sushi brand Sushimatsu. The post reads, “There was no way I couldn’t go, so I went,” and, “Sushi and tsukemen — what happiness.”

Sharin-Supervised Tsukemen: Rich Seafood and Pork Bone Broth Alongside Sushi

According to Sushimatsu’s official post, the collaboration launched the same day. Sharin, a Matsuya Foods group company, supervised the tsukemen, which uses a “rich seafood and pork bone broth that pairs well with sushi,” described as “clinging deliciously to the noodles.” The tsukemen comes in a half-size portion, designed to be enjoyed alongside sushi. The post’s photo shows, on a Sushimatsu menu mat, tsukemen noodles topped generously with shredded nori, a rich seafood and pork bone dipping sauce with floating green onion, nigiri sushi including shrimp, and cold tea. It’s the classic tsukemen style of dipping the noodles into the sauce before eating.

A Cross-Genre Collab Within the Matsuya Foods Group

Sharin is a tsukemen specialty chain known for its rich seafood and pork bone broth, and belongs to the same Matsuya Foods group as Matsuya and Sushimatsu. This time, sushi chain Sushimatsu is serving tsukemen supervised by Sharin, making it a cross-genre collaboration within the group. Sushimatsu has been expanding beyond sushi, such as introducing self-service all-you-can-drink at its Mitaka Minamiguchi location in June, and this tsukemen collaboration can be seen as another step in that direction.
