Matsuya's Official X Announces "Autumn Song Request Drive," a Seasonal Marumie Channel Project
On the morning of August 20, 2026, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted the “Autumn Song Request Drive” as a project tied to its in-store radio broadcast “Oishisa ‘Marumie’ Channel.” Coming about two and a half months after the “Summer Song Request Drive” announced on June 8, this seasonal follow-up carries the same format over to autumn, inviting readers to submit song requests.
What’s in the post
The post opens with the following line:
✨Oishisa Marumie👀Channel✨ \ 🍁Autumn Song Request Drive \
The body begins with “Summer is drawing to a close,” then lines up three autumn scenes – “a drive to see the fall leaves, moon viewing, the walk home from the school festival…” – before asking, “Is there a special song that instantly brings back your memories of ‘that autumn’?🍁” It continues, “From the latest tracks you want to hear right now to nostalgic classics you know by heart – tell us along with your story👇✨,” closing with two hashtags: “#MatsuyaMarumie” and “#AutumnSong.”
Rather than promoting a specific product or campaign, the post asks readers to share a song and the memory behind it, and it carries no image or video. “Oishisa ‘Marumie’ Channel” is the name of Matsuya’s in-store radio broadcast, narrated by voice actress Mie Sonozaki, and on X it serves as the banner for this seasonal song-request project.
The format carried over from “Summer Songs”
Compared with the “Summer Song Request Drive” from June 8, the post’s basic structure has been carried over almost entirely. The opening line “✨Oishisa Marumie👀Channel✨,” the heading format “\(Season) Song Request Drive\,” the question format “Is there a song that instantly brings back your memories of ‘that (season)’?,” and the closing request to share a song along with an episode are all shared between the summer and autumn editions. Only the seasonal emoji and phrasing were swapped – summer’s 🍉 and “that summer” became autumn’s 🍁 and “that autumn.”
That said, some details differ. The summer edition mixed in emoticons alongside 🍉, 👀, and a single ✨, used only one hashtag, “#MatsuyaMarumie,” and closed with a period after “Please tell us along with your story.” This time, the emoticons are gone, the seasonal emoji count has increased slightly to two 🍁 and two ✨, and the closing line now ends with “tell us👇✨,” adding 👇 and ✨. The hashtags have also grown to two, with “#AutumnSong” added alongside “#MatsuyaMarumie.”
Two straight days of reader-participation posts
The day before this request, on August 19, Matsuya’s official X account also posted under the heading “Today is ‘Haiku Day,’” asking readers to submit Matsuya Relatable Moments in 5-7-5 haiku form. Participation-driven posts asking readers for episodes or original work have now run two days in a row. Together with the fact that the song-request project itself continues seasonally alongside June’s summer edition, the account’s output is increasingly centered on back-and-forth engagement with followers.
Editor's Note
Everyone has their own song for "that autumn." While waiting for your Matsuben order, it might be worth digging up a tune that brings back memories.
