Matsuya's Official X Posts Third Store-Guessing Quiz, "Which Matsuya Is This?"

Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted at 2:14 PM on July 18, 2026, with a single photo of a store and the text “Which Matsuya Is This? (╹◡╹)”. It is a store-location guessing quiz that asks readers to work out which store appears in the photo.

“Which Matsuya Is This?” Reaches Its Third Round, and the Previous Two Never Got an Answer

This is the third quiz in the same “Which Matsuya Is This?” format. The first round came at 6:18 PM on May 11 (a vertically stacked store with Matsuya on the 1st floor and Matsunoya on the 2nd floor), and the second at 7:30 PM on May 15 (a vertically stacked store with Matsuya on the 1st floor and Shoken Chinese Dining on the 2nd floor). The first two rounds came just four days apart, but this one arrives 64 days after the second, a much longer gap for the series.

For both previous rounds, we could find no follow-up post from the official account revealing the answer. The account moved straight on to the next product announcement or eating-report post without checking the answers, and posting the question and leaving it hanging is becoming the series’ habit. The attached photo is also a different shot each of the three times, not a reuse of an earlier post’s image.

This Round’s Photo Shows an In-Store, Food-Court-Style Counter, a Different Angle from the Nighttime Exteriors of the Previous Two

Where the previous two rounds showed nighttime store exteriors, this one switches to a bright interior, shot across a food-court-style counter.

Listing what appears in the frame, there are several hints for narrowing down the store.

• A serving counter bearing the Matsuya logo (“Food Pickup Window”), with a shared tray return window on the left, in a food-court-style layout.
• The “Now Preparing” electronic order-number board shows three-digit numbers in the 188–216 range, suggesting a high-turnover store where numbers cycle this far.
• The ticket vending machine sign reads “ticket vending machine” in four languages: Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and Korean, which points to a location with many foreign customers.
• Two cashless-ready touch-panel ticket vending machines stand side by side.
• The posters on display list the Twice-cooked Pork Set Meal at 960 yen (released July 14, with soft-boiled egg and Fuji-san Kimchi toppings noted), Soy Milk Pudding at 180 yen, and Fluffy Egg Grilled Eel Bowl at 1,180 yen, confirming the photo was taken during the current lineup.

In the lower right of the image, an illustration of Macky & Yakky carrying a plate with flustered expressions is composited in, which, together with the board showing numbers close to its upper limit, conveys the mood of a bustling store.

However, no sign or notice that names the store or its location appears in the photo, so the specific store cannot be identified. The combination of multilingual signage, a food-court layout and high turnover suggests a corner of a large facility with many tourists and travelers, such as a service area, an airport or a large shopping complex.

A Light Interlude on the First Day of a Three-Day Weekend

The quiz was posted on the first day of the three-day weekend running July 18 to 20, the same day the official X account posted at 10 AM promoting the ONE PIECE Set with “First day of the three-day weekend 🎉 Made your plans yet?”. The quiz post itself is a one-off interlude with no links to new products or campaigns, slotted in as light reader-participation content between promotions such as the launch of the Twice-cooked Pork Set Meal (July 14) and reservations for the Grilled Eel Bowl ahead of the Day of the Ox (for pickup on July 26).
