Matsuya Updates Late-Night Temporary Suspension Schedules at 60 Stores Across Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku

Matsuya updated the posted business hours at 60 stores across 9 prefectures in the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku regions all at once on August 15. Most of the changes involve swapping out the dates for temporary late-night closures (the “Temporarily Closed” notation listed alongside business hours), but at some stores the base business hours themselves have changed.
This round of late-night suspension schedule revisions follows similar mass updates covering 73 stores across Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku on July 17 and 55 stores on July 31. Matsuya’s official site has been repeating these updates roughly every two weeks, and this latest round replaces the previous schedule with suspension dates for the second half of August.
60 Stores Across 9 Prefectures, Including 7 of Gifu’s 8 Locations
The stores whose business hours were updated this time span 60 locations across the following nine prefectures, concentrated in the area stretching from Chubu through Kinki and into Hokuriku.

Gifu Prefecture stands out in particular: 7 of its 8 existing stores (Gifu Akanebe Store, Gifu Noritake Store, Gifu Toei-cho Store, Ogaki Store, Tarui Store, Kitagatacho Store, and Kakamigahara Store) are included this time, giving it the highest coverage rate of any of the nine prefectures. Only Seki Store was excluded.
Stores That Switched to 24-Hour Operation
This update notably included several stores that had previously operated on set hours moving to round-the-clock, 24-hour operation.
- Matsuya Kire-Uriwari Store (0110): “5 a.m. to 2 a.m.” → “24-hour operation” (with temporary suspensions noted from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. on August 18, 21, 23, and other dates)
- Matsuya Abeno Store (0173): “5 a.m. to 2 a.m.” → “24-hour operation”
- Matsuya Suminoekoen Store (0629): “5 a.m. to 2 a.m.” → “24-hour operation”
- Matsuya Hirabari Store (1960): “4 a.m. to 2 a.m.” → “24-hour operation”
Matsuya Tonda Store (0911) expanded from 22-hour operation (“4 a.m. to 2 a.m.”) to full 24-hour operation. The store had only just widened its hours from “5 a.m. to 1 a.m.” to the 22-hour “4 a.m. to 2 a.m.” on July 16, and has now gone a step further into round-the-clock operation.
Hikone Store Pushes Opening Time from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Matsuya Hikone Store (0709) changed from “6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (with late-night temporary suspensions noted)” to “9 a.m. to 10 p.m.,” pushing its opening time back by three hours. In the July 31 mass update, the store had already moved its closing time earlier, from “6 a.m. to midnight” to “6 a.m. to 10 p.m.” This time its opening time was also pushed later, and the late-night temporary suspension notation was removed.
Stores That Revised Their Base Business Hours
In contrast to the shift to 24-hour operation, some stores restructured the actual hours during which they operate.
- Matsuya Toyohashi Tsutsujigaoka Store (0475): Changed from hours that varied by day of the week, with 24-hour operation on Saturdays, to a uniform “4 a.m. to 2 a.m.” across all days
- Matsuya Higobashi Store (0957): “5 a.m. to 1 a.m.” → “4 a.m. to 2 a.m.” (opening moved an hour earlier, closing pushed an hour later, expanding the hours)
- Matsuya Yao Honmachi Store (1772): “5 a.m. to 2 a.m.” → “5 a.m. to 3 a.m.” (closing extended by an hour)
- Matsuya Matsusaka Daikokuda Store (1978): “4 a.m. to 2 a.m.” → “2 a.m. to midnight” (both opening and closing shifted earlier)
Stores With Swapped Late-Night Suspension Dates
The most common pattern was stores that kept their 24-hour operation but simply swapped out the dates of their late-night temporary suspensions. Matsuya Kishiwada Store (0096), for example, had its suspension dates updated from “10 p.m. to 9 a.m. on July 31, August 1, 5, and 13” to “10 p.m. to 9 a.m. on August 26 and 29.” Imaike Store, Kasugai Store, Gifu Akanebe Store, Kariya Hidaka Store, and Izumiotsu Store, among others, similarly had their suspension dates rewritten to the latter half of August.
There were also cases where stores that had been operating 24 hours a day gained a new late-night temporary suspension. This applies to Matsuya Toyota Yamanote Store (0390), Osone-Kita Store (0691), Kawanishi-Noseguchi Store (0860), Minoh Store (0968), Toyoake Store (1703), Takarazuka Yasukura Store (1852), Ibuki PA (Up-bound) Store (2042), Chita Store (2151), and Toyokawa Store (2222). Matsuya Wakayama Mukai Store (1724) also had a short suspension added late at night on August 22.
Stores Where Suspensions Were Lifted, Returning to Full 24-Hour Operation
Conversely, some stores had their previously noted late-night temporary suspensions removed and reverted to a plain 24-hour operation listing. This applies to 5 stores — Matsuya Rokkomichi Store (0878), Kainan Store (1757), Seto Store (1834), Kobe Arino Store (2059), and Gifu Toei-cho Store (2153) — where the suspension dates set for the first half of August have disappeared.
