Matsuya Releases Four "Keema Sanhenka" Items at 70 Store-Limited Locations on October 27
Matsuya will release “Keema Sanhenka” (three variations on keema curry), a four-item lineup built around Keema Curry and Rice, as a store-limited menu at 70 stores nationwide at 10am on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The items are listed on Matsuya’s official store-limited menu page; no announcement or official X post has gone out. Prices range from 680 to 950 yen, and every item comes with a choice of egg and miso soup.
The Four Keema Curry Items That “Transform” Three Ways
The announcement image sets large text reading “Keema Sanhenka” in a yellow-and-red decorative frame against a background covered in spices like turmeric and whole peppercorns, with the Matsuya logo and the text “On Sale Tuesday, October 27 at 10am” in the upper right. Plates of white rice topped with dark brown keema are lined up, showing three toppings — hamburg steak, cheese, and beef — alongside the plain base Keema Curry and Rice with no topping.
“Sanhenka” (three transformations) refers to a lineup that branches out from the base Keema Curry and Rice into three variations.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Keema Curry and Rice | 680 yen |
| Cheese Keema Curry and Rice | 780 yen |
| Hamburg Steak Keema Curry and Rice | 930 yen |
| Keema Karegyu | 950 yen |
Building on the base Keema Curry and Rice, three variations branch off: Cheese Keema Curry and Rice topped with cheese, Hamburg Steak Keema Curry and Rice paired with a hamburg steak, and Keema Karegyu layered with beef. Keema Karegyu is a version of Matsuya’s signature Karegyu — a single plate combining curry and Beef Bowl — made with keema curry.
All four items come with a choice of raw egg or soft-boiled egg, plus miso soup. The raw egg is described as “mixing in smoothly for deep richness,” and the soft-boiled egg as “melting in, bringing out the flavor.” Miso soup is not included with takeout orders.

Store-Limited Test Sales in 2026
Throughout 2026, Matsuya has rotated new store-limited menu items roughly every one to two months, typically at around 70 stores. On May 26, Hamburg Steak in Rich Umami Stew with Mushroom Duxelles rolled out at 70 stores, and on September 15, the Pork Chap Set Meal rolled out at 70 stores. The scale of participating stores has varied — on July 28, Mirai no Lemon Sour reached 430 stores, and on October 6, the Beef Bowl topped with Four Cheeses reached 568 stores, both much wider rollouts. This time’s Keema Sanhenka, at 70 stores, falls on the narrower end of this year’s store-limited rollouts.
Some items that first launched as 70-store trials later expanded nationwide. The Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal, which began as a 70-store trial in June, switched to nationwide release on September 29. Most recently, the Loco Moco Bowl just appeared at 70 stores on October 12.
Separately, another store-limited item, the Chicken with Lemon Butter Set Meal, will also go on sale at 70 stores nationwide at the same time — 10am on October 27.
Editor's Note
Getting an egg and miso soup included with the 680-yen keema is generous. As a Karegyu fan, the 950-yen Keema Karegyu is the one catching my eye.
