A new Matsuya store is opening in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. The store is named Matsuya Maebashi Akagi Mall Store (2322), and it has been listed on the official website’s store list as a store scheduled to open. The address is 63 Aza Takinomae, Taguchicho, Maebashi City, with the opening scheduled for 10:00 AM on October 28, 2026. Among all of Matsuya’s current stores nationwide, this is the only one with “Mall” in its name.

4th Store in Maebashi City, 18th in Gunma Prefecture

With the arrival of Maebashi Akagi Mall Store, Matsuya will have four locations in Maebashi City. The existing three are Maebashi Mikawacho Store (0973), Maebashi Kamikoidecho Store (0624), and Maebashi Motosojacho Store (0793), and the new store will be located in Taguchicho, Maebashi City.

Within Gunma Prefecture, Maebashi Akagi Mall Store will be the 18th location. The prefecture’s breakdown is 4 in Takasaki, 4 in Ota, 4 in Maebashi, and 3 in Isesaki, along with one each in Yoshioka, Fujioka, and Tatebayashi, with stores concentrated in the three cities of Takasaki, Ota, and Maebashi.

The nearest existing store to the new location is Maebashi Kamikoidecho Store (2-41-7 Kamikoidecho, Maebashi City), roughly 2.8 kilometers away in a straight line (an estimate based on latitude and longitude). The location is not far from the existing store.

Opening with an Attached Matsunoya

Maebashi Akagi Mall Store will open with an attached Matsunoya. Matsunoya co-location is a format widely seen at Matsuya locations, and within Maebashi City, two of the existing three stores — Kamikoidecho Store and Motosojacho Store — have an attached Matsunoya. New stores listed as scheduled to open over roughly the past month have also continued this Matsunoya co-located format.

About a Month Until Opening, Listed in Advance

As of the time of listing, there is about a month remaining until the scheduled opening date of October 28, 2026. Looking at recent new store openings, the period from when a store is first listed as scheduled to open in the store list to the actual opening date has generally run about 15 to 36 days, so this roughly one-month span falls within that range. The scheduled opening date and time reflect what is shown in the store list and may differ from the date ultimately confirmed in an official announcement.

New store openings in Gunma Prefecture were also reported this spring, and Matsuya’s store count in the prefecture continues to steadily grow. With the opening of Maebashi Akagi Mall Store, store density in Maebashi City will increase further.
