Matsuya's ONE PIECE collab urges fans to 'invite friends and go together'

Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted a message at 6:00 p.m. on September 11 encouraging customers to visit with friends during the ongoing Matsuya x ONE PIECE collab. The text reads, “Delicious even when eaten alone. Even more delicious with friends. Matsuya’s ONE PIECE collab: invite your friends and go together!” and ends with the hashtags “#松屋 #ONEPIECE”. It is not an announcement of a new product or a new perk, but a call to visit during the collab period.

“Even more delicious with friends” as the closing line

The post sets one person against a group, in a “delicious alone, but…delicious with friends” structure. It says nothing about the collab’s eligible menu items or perks and focuses solely on visiting in a group, which sets it apart from earlier posts that introduced products or announced perks.

No official announcement corresponds to this wording, and it appears to have been written specifically for the post. Matsuya has issued two official announcements for the Matsuya x ONE PIECE collab, one for Phase 1 (June 19) and one for Phase 2 (August 14), but neither body text contains words such as “friends” or “alone.”

The closing phrase “even more delicious with friends” is not new on Matsuya’s official X account, however. In a July 15 post, a similar line was used: “Eating together with friends is even more delicious!” About two months later, the same “eating with friends” angle has once again become the core of the call to action.

Collab Phase 2 runs until 9:59 a.m. on October 6

Phase 2 of the Matsuya x ONE PIECE collab, “Natsu da! En da! Daimanpuku Matsuri,” began at 10:00 a.m. on August 18 and runs until 9:59 a.m. on October 6. The eligible items are the “Giant Serving Set” and the “ONE PIECE Set.” The latter lets customers choose from six kinds: Beef Bowl, Beef Bowl topped with Cheese, Beef Bowl topped with Green Onion and Soft Boiled Egg, Bowl of Mixed Simmered Beef and Kimchi, Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce, and Beef Bowl topped with Tomato and Cheese. For each eligible item ordered, customers receive one randomly selected Original Acrylic Block Chopstick Rest (12 designs in total).

The collab’s journey since June 30

The main collab began at 10:00 a.m. on June 30 and has been announced as a project running about 99 days, until 9:59 a.m. on October 6. On August 18 it moved into Phase 2, which switched the perks, and this post comes in the latter half of the collab. Since the start, the official X account has continually posted introductions of beef bowl menu items and progress updates on the campaign, and this one is a post focused on encouraging visits.
