Matsuya Kameari Store Ends Day-of-Week Variable Hours, Switches to 24-Hour Operation Every Day

Day-by-Day Hours Unified Into One Schedule

It has been learned that the operating hours at Matsuya Kameari Store have changed from an irregular system in which opening and closing times varied by day of the week to “24-hour operation” on every day of the week. The listing was updated in the store information on Matsuya’s official website.

Before the change, Kameari Store’s operating hours were split by day of the week: Monday from 4 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday 24-hour operation, Friday until 2 a.m. the following day, and Saturday/Sunday from 4 a.m. until 2 a.m. the following day. Only the three days from Tuesday through Thursday ran around the clock, while Monday opened at 4 a.m., Friday ran until 2 a.m. the next day, and Saturday and Sunday opened at 4 a.m. and closed at 2 a.m. the following day.

This has now been revised to uniform “24-hour operation,” eliminating the difference in hours by day of the week. The late-night-to-early-morning hours on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that were previously shortened have also changed to show availability regardless of the day. Kameari Store (3-25-1 Kameari, Katsushika Ward, Tokyo) is a standard-category store handling Beef Bowl, Curry and Rice, Set Meals, and Bowls, with no co-located brand.

All 9 Matsuya Stores in Katsushika Ward Now Operate 24 Hours

With this change, all 9 Matsuya stores located in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo (Ohanajaya Store, Kameari Minamiguchi Store, Kameari Store, Keisei-Tateishi Store, Keisei-Takasago Store, Horikiri Shobuen Store, Shin-Koiwa Kitaguchi Store, Kanamachi Store, and Aoto Store) now operate 24 hours a day. With Kameari Store—which had retained shortened hours on certain days—switching to round-the-clock operation, there is no longer any difference in operating format within the ward.

In the Kameari area in particular, Matsuya Kameari Minamiguchi Store (3-30-12 Kameari, Katsushika Ward, Tokyo) sits about 170 meters south of Kameari Store, in the same Kameari 3-chome, meaning two Matsuya stores operate within walking distance of each other. These two stores now both operate 24 hours a day as well.

The Shift to 24-Hour Operation Continues Nationwide

The move to switch to 24-hour operation has been happening one after another at Matsuya stores across the country recently. On October 1, Kashimada Store in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, had just expanded from hours split into specific time blocks to 24-hour operation, and in the greater Tokyo area, a store in Asahi Ward, Yokohama City also switched in September. The pattern of complex operating-hour notations—split by day of the week or tailored to co-located stores—being unified into the single phrase “24-hour operation” has also been seen at stores in Saitama Prefecture and elsewhere.

On Matsuya’s official website, Kameari Store is now listed as “24-hour operation.”
