On May 11, Matsuya announced that its app-only “Curry Menu Point Boost Campaign” will run for seven days, from 0:00 on Tuesday, May 12 to 23:59 on Monday, May 18. Ordering an eligible curry item through Matsuben Net or Matsuya Mobile Order earns an additional 50 Matsuya Points (worth 50 yen).

8 Eligible Items and Their 50-Point Rebate Rates

The eight eligible items are five classic items centered on the “Founding Beef Curry and Rice,” the “Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice” available only at stores co-located with Matsunoya, and Batachiki and Cream Butter, both going on sale at 10:00 on May 12. All sizes are eligible, but Only items and Matsuben Delivery are excluded.

Cream Butter Curry and Rice (730 yen) has the highest rebate rate at approx. 6.85%, making it the most efficient way to collect the 50 points. The various Curry Lunch Sets are also eligible for the points. The remaining item, the “Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice,” is a set meal sold separately and only at stores co-located with Matsunoya.

Batachiki and Cream Butter Eligible From Day One; Gorochiki Drops Out With Discontinuation

May 12, the campaign’s start date, is also the day Matsuya’s curry category sees a major shake-up.

The announcement states: “‘Chunky Stewed Chicken Curry and Rice’ will be discontinued at 10:00 on Tuesday, May 12. It is eligible for points until discontinuation.” This means that for just 10 hours, from 0:00 to 10:00 on May 12, all curries, including Gorochiki and the new Batachiki and Cream Butter, are eligible at once. The point boost campaign bridges the launch of Batachiki and Cream Butter and the discontinuation of Gorochiki.

A Rerun of the April 14–27 Campaign

The Curry Menu Point Boost Campaign last ran for 14 days from April 14 to April 27, so this rerun comes after about two weeks. The eligible items and duration have changed as follows.
