Matsuya Launches Up to 15% Ponta Points Back on au PAY Payments, Starting Today at 3 PM
At 3 p.m. on August 8, Matsuya announced on its official X account that the campaign was “starting today,” launching a promotion in which orders placed through the Matsuya App or Matsuben Net and paid for with au PAY earn up to 15% back in Ponta Points. The rebate applies only during the daily window from 3:00 p.m. to 10:59 p.m., and the campaign runs through August 23. The initiative, which had been previewed in an official website notice the day before on August 7, kicked off on schedule.
Eligibility: au PAY Advance Payments of 600 Yen or More per Order, Up to 15% Back per 200 Yen
Eligible orders are those placed through Matsuben Net, Matsuya Mobile Order, Matsuben Delivery, or the Matsuya Mini App, where the total per order is 600 yen (tax included) or more and paid via au PAY (online payment). Ponta Points are awarded at up to 15% back for every 200 yen (tax included) spent, which — including the 0.5% base point rate — comes to 30 points per 200 yen. Advance entry through a dedicated page is required to participate, and the rebate is capped at 200 points per order per au ID, up to a total of 1,000 points over the course of the campaign.
The announcement graphic carries the line “15:00-22:59 Only: Tonight’s Dinner Is Matsuya!”, putting the dinnertime focus front and center. Eligible brands span Matsuya’s core lineup side by side — Matsuya, Matsunoya, My Curry Shokudo, Sushimatsu, Shoken Chinese Dining, Matsutaro, Steak-ya Matsu, Steak Set Meal & Bowl Matsugyu, Tukkun², and Mugi no Toriko (excluding some stores). Because the requirement is advance payment (takeout/delivery orders or pickup reservations), ordinary in-store checkout using cash or other payment methods at the register does not qualify.
A Time-Limited 15% That Stands Out Among Payment Providers
Within the Matsuya App, rebate campaigns tied to individual payment brands are running in parallel during this same period. Overlapping with the current au PAY campaign, PayPay is running a coupon campaign offering up to 10% back from August 1 through August 31, meaning au PAY’s 15% surpasses it. In the past, a separate promotion combining the Matsuya App with Rakuten Pay also offered up to 15% back, so in terms of rebate rate alone, 15% ranks among the highest of Matsuya’s payment campaigns.
What sets this au PAY campaign apart from the others, however, is its time-limited design, restricting the rebate to the daily window between 3:00 p.m. and 10:59 p.m. Unlike coupon-based rebates that apply all day, it is structured to concentrate points on orders placed during the evening and nighttime hours when dinner demand peaks. The copy “Tonight’s dinner is Matsuya” can be read as a direct appeal for visits and orders during this window.

Editor's Note
A time window aimed squarely at dinnertime. Since orders from just 600 yen qualify, if you're opening the Matsuya App during these hours, just don't forget the advance entry.
