Matsuya Yamanashi Ryuo Store Switches to 24-Hour Operation

Hours Before and After the Change

Matsuya Yamanashi Ryuo Store (0728) has switched its operating hours to 24-hour operation. The store, located in Kai City, Yamanashi Prefecture, has moved from its previous system of day-by-day operating hours to a format where it is open around the clock.

The previous listing read: “Sunday to Thursday: 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. the next day, Friday: from 5:00 a.m., Saturday: until 4:00 a.m. the next day.” Sunday through Thursday, the store opened at 5:00 a.m. and closed at 4:00 a.m. the following day, meaning the one-hour window from 4:00 to 5:00 a.m. was a closure period, while from Friday 5:00 a.m. through the weekend it operated continuously.

This listing has now been unified into “24-hour operation” regardless of day of the week. The one-hour closure that used to fall in the early-morning hours on weekdays has also been eliminated, and the store now operates around the clock every day.

Three Nearby Stores Now Share the Same Operating Format

Within roughly a 3-kilometer radius of Yamanashi Ryuo Store are Matsuya Yamanashi Showa Store (1764) and Matsuya Kofu Kokubo Store (1729). Both are open 24 hours and are co-located with Matsunoya. With this change, these three nearby stores now also align in their operating format. The area near the boundary of Kai City, Showa Town, and Kofu City is a district where Matsuya stores are clustered within a short distance of one another.

The Shift to 24-Hour Operation Continues Chainwide

Yamanashi Ryuo Store’s shift to 24-hour operation is part of a broader change in operating formats seen across Matsuya as a whole. Of Matsuya’s 1,210 stores nationwide, about 84%, or 1,018 stores, now operate 24 hours a day. Over the past roughly 4 months, 46 stores have switched from limited hours to 24-hour operation, outpacing the 29 stores that moved in the opposite direction (from 24-hour operation to limited hours). Most recently, Matsuya Komatsu Hinodecho Store (2221) made the same switch to 24-hour operation on August 10, 2026, with Yamanashi Ryuo Store’s change coming just 2 days later.
