Matsuya to Give Out Free Service Vouchers From August 11 — Collect 3 for a Free Plate of Small Serving Boneless Short Rib

Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, Matsuya will launch the free service voucher campaign “Midsummer Waku Waku Project.” Part of its 60th Founding Anniversary lineup, the campaign hands out vouchers good for one free side dish to customers who purchase a main menu item such as the Beef Bowl. This time three vouchers are on offer—Small Serving Potato Salad, Small Serving Kimchi, and Roasted Seaweed—and a new collection bonus has been added: gather three vouchers and receive a free plate of Small Serving Boneless Short Rib. Distribution runs from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11 through 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, and the vouchers themselves remain valid through the end of September 2026.

Three Free Service Vouchers, Plus a Small Serving Boneless Short Rib for Collectors

Each voucher distributed can be redeemed on its own for one free side dish. Matsuya has added a short recommendation line to each voucher.

On top of that, collecting three of these vouchers earns a free plate of Small Serving Boneless Short Rib. What’s Different From the Previous Four Rounds

Matsuya’s free service voucher distribution is a recurring campaign that has run under the same phrase, “to commemorate Matsuya Foods’ 60th Founding Anniversary,” since December 2025, and this marks its fifth round. The gap since the previous distribution (which began on April 21) is about three and a half months (111 days), the longest interval yet between rounds.

The contents have also changed from the previous four rounds. Those earlier campaigns offered a simple one-for-one exchange, letting customers choose one item from a lineup of four: Potato Salad, Pickled Vegetables, Kimchi, and Miso Soup. This time the lineup has been narrowed to three items—Small Serving Potato Salad, Small Serving Kimchi, and Roasted Seaweed—all now labeled as “Small Serving” sides. And the “collect three for a free plate of Small Serving Boneless Short Rib” mechanic is a new twist that none of the previous four rounds included.

There was also a hint that this new format was coming. On June 26, Matsuya’s official X account had asked followers whether the next round of vouchers should keep the current format or switch to a “new format where you collect vouchers and trade them in for items like Simmered Beef & Onion.” The “collect three for a free Small Serving Boneless Short Rib” mechanic introduced this time turns out to closely match the “collect and redeem” idea floated back then.
