Matsuya's First X Coupon in Two Years Takes 70 Yen Off Beef Bowl in Every Size

Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, Matsuya will activate an X coupon taking 70 yen off Beef Bowl in every size. Matsuya’s official X account revealed the news on the night of August 9, calling it “Matsuya’s first X coupon in two years” and explaining that it was prepared at the request of sister brand Matsunoya.

Regular Serving drops to 390 yen, valid through 10:00 a.m. on August 18

According to the announcement image, the discount applies uniformly, at 70 yen off, across every size of Beef Bowl. The Regular Serving, normally 460 yen, drops to 390 yen. The coupon is explicitly valid through 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18. Matsuya’s official X account noted, “There wasn’t much time, so it’s just one item,” while pointing out that the ticket vending machine also offers a variety of set-meal combos. The QR-code coupon image itself was set to be published separately at 9:00 a.m. on August 11, the day the coupon activates, and remained unpublished as of this writing.

The coupon can also be used for dine-in, not just takeout. Matsuya’s official X account confirmed this in a reply to a user, saying, “You can use it for takeout, of course, but also for dine-in.”

The announcement image depicts Matsuya’s official mascot Macky receiving a baton with the line “Leave it to me!”, alongside large text reading “Beef Bowl Regular Serving 390 yen” and “70 yen off Beef Bowl in every size!”

A “baton pass” from Matsunoya

This coupon comes after a prepared-food coupon that tonkatsu-focused sister brand Matsunoya was running over summer vacation sold out early. The image carries the message, “Sorry that the Matsunoya prepared-food coupon sold out early… Matsuya is taking the baton instead!” Matsuya’s official X account explained the background as well: “We rushed to put this together at Matsunoya’s request.” On August 7, Matsuya’s official X account had already quoted Matsunoya’s post to tease the campaign, with an image reading only “COMING SOON…8.11.”

The coupon can also be used at stores co-located with Matsunoya. When a user asked whether it would work at co-located stores, Matsuya’s official X account replied, “Of course it’s OK.” In other words, it works the same way at the ticket vending machines of stores that share a location with Matsunoya, not just standalone Matsuya stores.

Note that the weather-triggered “X-exclusive Rainy Day Coupon” ended on April 30 this year, but this is a one-off campaign born out of the collaboration with Matsunoya, and it works through the QR code at the ticket vending machine.

Two new menu items also launch at 10:00 a.m. the same day

The 10:00 a.m. activation on August 11 also coincides with the launch of two teppan-grilled items, Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl and Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl. With new beef menu items and a Beef Bowl discount landing on the same day, the timing looks set to concentrate visits.
