Matsuya's Official X Announces September 1 Renewal of Beef Bibim Bowl Sauce

At 6:00 p.m. on August 28, Matsuya’s official X (formerly Twitter) account announced the renewal of the “Beef Bibim Bowl sauce” starting at 10:00 a.m. on September 1. Calling it “a new sauce with a deeper richness — please give it a try,” the post included a single image of the renewed Beef Bibim Bowl.

This sauce renewal had already been announced the previous day, August 27, in an official notice, and today’s post amounts to the same content being reshared from the official X account.

The post consists of two sentences. The first, “From 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, we are renewing the ‘Beef Bibim Bowl sauce’ 🎉,” nearly matches the opening sentence of the August 27 notice, “We will renew the ‘Beef Bibim Bowl sauce’ from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026,” with “2026” dropped and the ending replaced with the 🎉 emoji.

The second sentence, “A new sauce with a deeper richness — please give it a try ✨,” combines two separate parts of the notice text — the description “a new sauce with a deeper richness” and the closing phrase “please give it a try” — into one condensed sentence. It is neither a verbatim quote of the original nor an entirely original composition. Past renewal announcements have used the same type of closing line, “please give it a try ✨,” and both 🎉 and ✨ fall within the official X account’s usual range of emoji use.

The new Bibim Sauce uses “reduced-salt soy sauce” and “Sichuan doubanjiang”

The attached image describes the features of the new sauce alongside the renewed Beef Bibim Bowl: “the gentle taste of reduced-salt soy sauce,” “the deep richness of Sichuan doubanjiang,” and “saltiness toned down for a milder finish.” The image shows a Beef Bibim Bowl topped with a dark, thick sauce being poured from a spoon, a hot spring egg, kimchi, chopped nori, scallion, and white sesame seeds, along with the text “Flavor Reconstructed NEW Beef Bibim Bowl” and “Beef Bibim Bowl 690 yen.”

The post text mentions only the “Beef Bibim Bowl,” but the August 27 notice also lists the “Extra Green Onion Spicy-Savory Green Onion & Egg Beef Bowl” as covered by the same new Bibim Sauce renewal. Prices remain unchanged: the Beef Bibim Bowl is 660 yen (Small), 690 yen (Regular), and 910 yen (Large), while the Extra Green Onion Spicy-Savory Green Onion & Egg Beef Bowl ranges from 630 yen (Small) to 1,060 yen (Extra-large). In addition, the Matsuya official app will distribute a 50-yen-off coupon from 10:00 a.m. on September 1 through 10:00 a.m. on September 8.

Second sauce renewal in half a year

This is not the first time the Beef Bibim Bowl’s Bibim Sauce has been renewed. The same “Bibim Sauce” was also renewed about half a year ago, in February 2026. This latest change marks a second renewal in a short span of time.

The Bibim Bowl line of items has a long history: since its original launch in June 2004, it has repeatedly changed form through limited-time sales and suspensions — returning in August 2019, becoming a regular menu item in February 2021, and returning again in April 2022 as a renewed “Beef Bibim Bowl” and “Pork Bibim Bowl.” The official X post itself has also looked back on the Bibim Bowl’s history in the past.
