On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Matsuya will hold its monthly Meat Day Campaign. For orders placed through Matsuya Foods’ official apps, Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order, five Large Serving set meals (Yakiniku Beef, Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib, Yakiniku Pork Loin, Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce, and Pork & Kimchi) will be a flat 200 yen off their regular prices. In addition, two “Bakumori” bowls, with an extra-large serving of rice and double the meat of a Large Serving, will appear for this one day only.

Five Large Serving Set Meals 200 Yen Off

The campaign covers five meat-based set meals in the Large Serving size, which doubles the portion of meat. Prices after the discount, tax included, are as follows.

All five are 200 yen off, a rebate of roughly 15%. After the discount, prices fall into three tiers: 1,180 yen (Yakiniku Beef and Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib), 1,140 yen (Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce and Pork & Kimchi), and 1,080 yen (Yakiniku Pork Loin).

The newly included “Large Serving Pork & Kimchi Set Meal” is a limited-time item that went on sale at 10 a.m. today, August 25. Just hours after its release, it has been folded into the Meat Day Large Serving set meal discount. Upgrading the Pork & Kimchi Set Meal from the Regular Serving at 890 yen to the Large Serving at 1,340 yen costs 450 yen, which is 40 yen less than the other four items (Yakiniku Beef, Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib, Yakiniku Pork Loin, and Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce all cost 490 yen more). This simply reflects the difference in the original pricing, but it makes it the Large Serving set meal with the cheapest upgrade.

Two One-Day-Only “Bakumori” Bowls

The highlight this time is the “Bakumori” size bowls, with an extra-large serving of rice and double the meat of a Large Serving. The Large Serving “Kimchi Kalbi Bowl” is 1,200 yen including tax, and the Large Serving “Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl” is 1,140 yen including tax. Both appear for one day only, on August 29.

The Kimchi Kalbi Bowl normally comes in Regular Serving at 690 yen, Large Serving at 910 yen, and Extra-large Serving at 1,090 yen, but the Bakumori Large Serving at 1,200 yen is 110 yen above the top Extra-large Serving, setting a new ceiling. The Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl is 630 yen for Regular Serving and 850 yen for Large Serving, with no Extra-large Serving offered, so the Large Serving at 1,140 yen is 290 yen above the Large Serving and adds a size tier that did not exist before. In the promotional image, the Kimchi Kalbi Bowl, with kimchi layered on boneless short rib, and the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl, topped with scallions and shredded nori, are shown in portions far larger than the standard sizes.

Available Only on Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order

Both the discount and the Bakumori bowls are available only for orders placed through Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order in Matsuya Foods’ official app. They cannot be purchased from the ticket vending machines or tablets in stores, where regular prices apply. They can be enjoyed dining in or taking out, but Matsuben Delivery is excluded. The campaign applies to Matsuya stores nationwide with some exceptions: Haneda Innovation City Store, Narita Airport Terminal 3 Store, and stores inside expressway parking areas are excluded. Some stores have different prices.

Monthly Meat Day Campaign: The 200-Yen Discount Holds Steady

The Meat Day Campaign is a monthly event held around the 29th of each month, most recently on July 29, when six Large Serving set meals were covered. The lineup changes from month to month: the Large Serving Twice-cooked Pork Set Meal, which was included in July, is out this time, replaced by the Large Serving Pork & Kimchi Set Meal that went on sale today.

Even as regular prices of the covered items have been revised, the Large Serving discount has stayed at 200 yen. Meanwhile, the way portions are increased varies from month to month; in June, a “Triple” size larger than usual was offered for the Hamburg Steak Set Meal for one day only. Still, this is the first time the term “Bakumori” has been used in a Meat Day Campaign. No past Meat Day announcement used the word, making this a step up in scale even among the monthly campaigns.
