Matsuya's Official X Shows Off Wooden Lattice Interior at Newly Opened Kumagaya Ishihara Store

On August 8, Matsuya’s official X account posted photos of the exterior and interior of the “Matsuya/Matsunoya Kumagaya Ishihara Store (2314),” which opened on July 31. The post said, “We visited the Matsuya/Matsunoya Kumagaya Ishihara Store, which opened on July 31,” and, about the interior, added, “I want this interior in my house.”

The store had been announced as opening at 10:00 on July 31 as of July 9, and it opened on that date as scheduled. This post comes about a week after the opening.

Black-Toned Exterior with a Drive-Through

The first photo shows the exterior of the store standing under a blue sky. A square, black-toned building is accented with a yellow line, and illuminated signs reading “Matsunoya (TONKATSU MATSUNOYA)” and “Matsuya (MATSUYA)” sit side by side on the upper part of the wall. The exterior alone makes clear that this is a co-located store combining Matsuya and Matsunoya.

Beside the building is a drive-through lane equipped with a touch-panel ordering machine, and the entrance displays a “Height limit 2.7 m” sign. A menu board in the window beside the entrance lists “Beef Bowl (Regular Serving) 460 yen, with miso soup” and “Boneless Short Rib and Kimchi Bowl (Regular Serving) 690 yen, with miso soup,” and a red vertical banner announces “Opening Commemorative: Service Vouchers Being Distributed!”

Interior Wall Decor: A Round Logo Built from Wooden Lattice

The second photo shows an interior wall. What the official account called “something I’d want in my house” was a three-dimensional wooden lattice artwork that combines countless vertical slats, varying how far each one protrudes to make Matsuya’s round logo stand out boldly. The ceiling is also finished in wood grain, and bench seating sits beneath the lattice. The wall monitor on the left shows a “The Food Pick Up Counter” notice, along with an announcement for the Matsuya Foods official app and Mobile Order.

Second Store in Kumagaya City, Part of a Run of New Openings in Saitama

Kumagaya City already has the “Matsuya Kumagaya Bypass Store (0190),” making Kumagaya Ishihara the second Matsuya in the city. In Saitama Prefecture, following the Kuki Honmachi Store and the Nishi-Urawa Station Store, it is the third new opening in the past few months.

The Matsuya stores that have opened in recent months have all continued to be co-located with Matsunoya. Apart from examples such as the Matsuya-only “Matsuya PREMIUM Ginza Store,” nearly every new opening has been a combined Matsuya x Matsunoya format. On July 31, the same day as Kumagaya Ishihara, the Tochigi Oyama Kizawa Store also opened, making this a period of continued co-located openings.
