No end date is stated, but judging from past menu items that received the same notice, it will likely be time to enjoy it one last time before long.

A Bowl That Evolved from the Poll-Winning No. 1 Heads for Discontinuation

The New Grilled Beef Bowl was announced in an official notice dated November 27, 2025, titled “The Original Fan-Favorite No. 1 Menu Item Reaches New Heights: New Release of the ‘New Grilled Beef Bowl,’” and went on sale at 10:00 on December 2. The notice described it as an evolution of the “Original Spicy-Savory Grilled Beef Bowl,” which took first place in the 2018 Revival General Election, finished with a special oyster sauce-based glaze.

It was a flagship-class item that arrived carrying the DNA of a fan-vote winner, but it has now received the “To be discontinued successively” notice. As of now, we have not found any official announcement naming a successor product or explaining the reason for the discontinuation.

How Long Can You Still Get It?

True to its wording, the “To be discontinued successively” notice signals that each store will end sales one after another as stock runs out. Because the official site does not state an end date, there is no definitive date for the last chance to eat it.

That said, looking back at past menu items that received the same “To be discontinued successively” notice, the time from the notice appearing to the item vanishing from the official site’s menu list has been as short as about 6 days, usually around one week, and no more than just under 3 weeks even at the longest. Nearly half disappeared from the list within a week of the notice. If the New Grilled Beef Bowl follows this pattern, its remaining time is likely not long.

Price, Size, and Nutrition

The New Grilled Beef Bowl comes in three sizes: Small Serving, Regular Serving, and Large Serving. Prices and energy are as follows.

However, the Extra-large Serving (1,090 yen) offered for the Boneless Short Rib and Kimchi Bowl was not set for the New Grilled Beef Bowl, making Large the biggest size. The cheaper option in the bowl category is the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl (Regular Serving 630 yen), which was 60 yen less than the New Grilled Beef Bowl at the Regular Serving. With this item gone, a 690-yen-tier option will be missing from the lineup.

A Regular in Discounts and Point Campaigns

The New Grilled Beef Bowl has also often been named as an eligible item in Matsuya campaigns. It was included in the app-exclusive 50-point grant on bowl menu items starting March 31, and in the Bowl & Bento Point Boost (+50 points) from July 1 to 7, and it was also counted among the eligible main dishes for the up to 70 yen off with the Hiyajiru Set, released on August 4. As a perennial favorite for discounts, the discontinuation notice is a bit sad to see.

Note that the “To be discontinued successively” notice is nothing special this time; it is a standard discontinuation notice that has been used for other menu items in the past. In May, the same notice appeared on the Seasoned Ground Chicken & Egg Bowl in the bowl category, and it disappeared shortly afterward. For the New Grilled Beef Bowl too, it is natural to read this notice as the signal that the countdown to the last chance has begun.
