The item is one of the six eligible for the “ONE PIECE Set” in the TV anime ONE PIECE collaboration that began on June 30, and this post serves as a re-promotion at the collab’s midpoint.

A Day After the Classic Beef Bowl, Now Grated Radish & Ponzu

Since announcing the collab (June 19), the official X account has repeatedly posted content centered on the acrylic block chopstick rests. On July 15, just before this post, it promoted the ONE PIECE Set with an angle of “the classic beef bowl that Matsuya is known for,” and the following day, this post names one specific flavor among the six eligible items, the Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce, as the star. Together, the two days of posts shift the focus from beef bowls in general to an individual menu item.

Also on July 16, shortly before this post, around 5 PM, a separate announcement was made for the takeout-only “Grilled Eel Bowl Bento Set” (on sale July 21 at 10:00). A product tied to the Day of the Ox and the collab menu, two different lines of promotion, were thus run in parallel on the same day.

A Classic Flavor With Three Faces: Regular, Lunch, and Collab

The Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce is not a new menu item debuting with this collab. It is a long-running classic flavor that, for example, was added to the Beef Bowl Bento bulk-buy sets in February 2024. It now appears in stores in three forms: the regular version at 560 yen (Regular Serving), the standard Lunch Set (630 yen), and the collab version, the “ONE PIECE Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce Set” (760 yen, Regular Serving). The 200-yen difference on the collab version is the extra charge for getting the acrylic block chopstick rest.

Meanwhile, the surrounding lineup is being quietly pared down. The limited-time “Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce w/ Fried Chicken” (920 yen) ended sales on April 7, and the four takeout “Beef Bowl Bento topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce” bulk-buy sets (2 to 5 pieces, 1,060 to 2,500 yen) were removed from the official site’s listings as of July 14. While the signature Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce coexists in three forms, its spin-off products are being narrowed down.
