Matsuya Launches Authentic Japanese Sweet Soy Milk Pudding with Kinako and Kuromitsu for 180 Yen on July 14

Matsuya Foods will launch the authentic Japanese sweet Soy Milk Pudding (180 yen, tax included) at Matsuya — the chain known for Beef Bowl, Curry and Rice, and Set Meals — starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The company announced the news in an official notice dated July 9. The pudding is finished with the mellow, rich texture unique to soy milk, and comes with a set of fragrant kinako (roasted soybean flour) and richly flavored kuromitsu (brown sugar syrup). The rollout covers Matsuya locations nationwide, excluding some stores and Okinawa.

A Rich Pudding Enjoyed with Kuromitsu and Kinako

The official notice positions it as “an authentic Japanese sweet perfect for dessert after a meal or a quick café break,” promoting it as “mellow, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.” The pudding is served in a clear cup, topped generously with thick, glossy kuromitsu and finished with a fine dusting of kinako. The idea is to pour on as much as you like and enjoy the melting texture together with the classic Japanese flavor.

Nationwide Rollout About Three Months After March’s Store-Limited Sale

The same-named item, written as “豆乳プリン” (Soy Milk Pudding) in katakana, first appeared at select stores starting at 10:00 a.m. on March 17, 2026. That rollout was limited to around 200 stores and was delisted on April 3, meaning it was available in stores for only about 17 days. This time’s Soy Milk Pudding, now written in hiragana as “豆乳ぷりん,” comes roughly three months after that earlier test sale and expands the rollout to Matsuya locations nationwide, excluding Okinawa.

Priced Just Above 3 Jelly Cups Among Sweet Side Dishes

Among Matsuya’s current sweet-leaning side dishes, 3 Jelly Cups is priced at 150 yen, putting Soy Milk Pudding’s 180 yen price 30 yen higher. That 180 yen figure matches the price of side dishes Sausage & Egg and Sausage & Soft-boiled Egg.

There are also discounts available. Ordering through the official Matsuya app brings the price down 30 yen to 150 yen, while ordering it as a set with a main menu item brings it down 20 yen to 160 yen — a two-tier discount structure.

Twice-cooked Pork Also Launches the Same Day, July 14

July 14, the launch date for Soy Milk Pudding, also coincides with the launch date for Twice-cooked Pork, Matsuya’s staple summer Chinese-style dish. Both items were announced in succession on the same day, July 9. Twice-cooked Pork has been announced almost every year since 2018 as a recurring summer menu item around June or July, and this summer it will hit stores alongside Soy Milk Pudding, both on July 14.
